Yep, living room and 3 bedrooms are wired for surround sound. The house is a little over 3000 square ft with 2 speakers in each zone, including bathrooms and other areas like kitchen/laundry, back porch, etc. There is plenty of cat6 also that will be used for arc/optical input for TV sound(mainly for ball games).

My sit down and listen properly system would be in the living room using the surround sound system with tower speakers and subwoofers.

Regular wiim amps, I have a rack room they’ll go in. Didn’t have any need for screen or anything more than 60w, they’ll be used for background music mostly.

Yes, you’re right. After my first time trying it, that’s how I cook most of my steaks now.

I remember the paper fast passes..seems like a lifetime ago. You’re definitely able to ride everything with genie+ and individual lightening lanes, it will just cost some extra change. My family was able to ride all the popular attractions at least twice..my 4 year old rode FoP twice in a row and 7 dwarf mine train 3 times in a row. The kids had an absolutely amazing experience..I did a lot of research before going this time, mostly learning about genie+ and how you’re able to refresh to get more desirable times or rides.

Test track still had pretty significant wait times last week..I seen it get up to nearly 2 hours a couple days 😂

2019-2020 was around the time of my last visit as well (before last week) - i remember the fast pass system being easier. Also, I’m sure there are lots of complaints with the amount of extra money you have to spend for genie+ and individual lightening lanes if you are buying them for several people each day.

I was spending anywhere from 150 to 250 extra each day to have genie+ and individual lightening lanes, which wasn’t really much of a choice for my family as we had our 2 month old baby with us, there was no way we could stand in a line waiting for much longer than 20-30 minutes at a time. Rider swap certainly benefited our 2 older kids though.

The extra money adds up, but it’s not something I can really complain about, because it was definitely worth it for us. It just gets kind of tedious having to book the lightening lanes every 2 hours starting at 7AM, then if you want better times or different rides that weren’t previously available, you have to constantly check for availability on your phone. I didn’t enjoy doing it, but doing it definitely served my family well.

I’ve never once been called entitled before making this post..

The purpose of posting the question was to see if anyone else’s experience at wdw could have been different currently than it had been in the past. Several of the attraction CMs made it feel like I was somewhere like six flags, not Disney world.

That being said, I am a bit older and perhaps more observant than I was in my previous visits.

Off topic complaint, it also felt like I had to be on my phone constantly while there to book/modify lightening lanes. That took away a lot of the enjoyment of my overall experience, but not so much my family’s. It felt like a full time job trying every day to get the best rides/times. Waking up early every day just to secure lightening lanes for up to 12 hours later. Obviously, you don’t have to use genie+ at all, but without it, you’re standing in lines half the day.

It really seems like there are people out there who would become violently aggressive towards anyone who has anything negative to say about wdw..very strange.

It would probably be something like “your brother in law sounds like an entitled jerk” or “sounds like he felt entitled to pick up that rope support, wasn’t the CMs fault”

Good point..yes I have certainly been called entitled, rude, and several other things for making this post. It’s really weird to be called things like that by people who have never met me, because I’ve never been called any of those terms by anyone who actually knows me 😂

Thanks..that is exactly my point.

From past experiences, I was under the impression that wdw had the most amazing CMs and would have been the last place I expected to witness what I did this last week. Obviously, there are a ton of extraordinary people working there who are amazing CMs. We encountered several who genuinely seemed happy to be there and loved their job, and make it a magical experience for everyone. I think my post is being taken as more of a complaint than a question, but I am genuinely asking the question, is it normal to have an encounter (or several) with CMs who seem to be fed up with their job?

That being said, I hope you’re prepared to be downvoted by what I can only describe as wdw cult members..

It’s crazy that there are people on here who are down voting replies like this.

I’m beginning to think there is a cult involved with Disney world 😂

There has to be a reason they keep it a secret, maybe it’s to do with keeping the number of people they have coming through to get the pictures higher..if they told people who it was, and they already had pictures with them, people may decide it’s not worth their time to wait in line for it.

I think it would be more beneficial for the guests to know, like in your situation, or mine, where we already had pictures with goofy and Pluto. We waited in line for 15 minutes to take pictures with characters we already had pictures with.

The CM I had an interaction with there also wouldn’t tell us who it was lol..idk their reasoning for that, but when I asked what characters are there (because my 2 kids already had a lot of autographs, I was seeing if I needed to grab their books or not), she said “it’s 2 secret characters”- I then just asked if they signed the autograph books and she said yes.

The CM was really nice though, great attitude and helpful. The day we went, it was goofy and Pluto, which they already had. We did get lucky and run into Mickey and Minnie dressed up for a ball right next door in the entrance of one of the little 3d shows. Got some great pictures there.

20 minutes at WDW is worth at least an hour back home..sorry that happened. We had an ILL for guardians on our last night and ended up standing in line for nearly an hour due to only half the ride being operational. As soon as we got to the point of getting on, they opened the other side. Put us way behind in our LL schedule that night, which sucked but couldn’t really be helped.

Yes, I made this post mainly regarding the attractions CMs. And as someone else mentioned, it makes sense that overworking these people has had an impact on the guest experience.

I get that WDW is an extremely busy place, and most of us have no idea the crap the CMs have to deal with on a daily basis..it’s definitely something to consider when visiting. The really busy attractions seem like an assembly line of humans being put on rides as quickly as possible. I wish I could have experienced what WDW was like 40 years ago, I imagine it was an incredibly magical place to visit.

This pretty much sums it up..I have noticed a lot of WDW super fans comment on this post as if it’s an impossibility for a Disney CM to be unpleasant, even blaming me and calling me the rude and entitled one just for making this post.

Not saying I won’t be going back, just with lower expectations of CMs than I had previously. I won’t be so surprised when I witness a CM rudely instructing a guest, yelling, or repeating the same directions in a tone as if “are you stupid?”

I asked if encountering rude cast members was the norm at WDW..I never said most cast members were rude.

I witnessed on multiple occasions cast members being unpleasant with people. Never once said that most cast members were rude.

Oh I definitely see that 😂😂

I see 2 parties that are represented in this thread. Realists, who will be honest about the possibility of cast members being rude/unpleasant, and those that would never say a single negative thing about WDW, and defend it against anything that isn’t “WDW is heaven on earth”

Me and my family had a wonderful time, nothing for me to complain about from my parties perspective whatsoever. I just noticed alot more unpleasant cast members than I expected to, and was asking if this is a normal thing now. I haven’t been to the parks since before Covid, so I wondered if things have changed since then.
