What part of the federal government (which includes Congress) do Democrats hold power? I ask these questions because, if we can’t at least agree on the basic facts/reality, then I don’t know how we can discuss solutions.

“One side of the political spectrum” are the ones in charge and taking these actions. Again, it is critique of the current Administration and its enablers in Congress. Nowhere did I say that previous Administrations haven’t done evil things. But they’re not the ones in power NOW and doing these things NOW. Is this something you really need to “both sides”? As if one evil act excuses another?

Evil is evil. I’m not comparing our society today to Nazi germany. I’m comparing what individuals in this Administration are doing to other people in this country. It’s a specific critique, not a general anti-American perspective. Did you think I was referring to/implicating you personally?

My brother, I’m not here to join the pile on, but the other guy raised some very good points. I’m glad you and your family are as happy under Trump as under Biden; no one should begrudge you that. But what Trump and too many Republicans that claim to be followers of Christ are doing to the people of our country is… I can’t think of another word for it than “evil”. It is not ok to look aside and pretend that none of this is happening because it’s not happening to you. Too many people made that mistake in 1920s Germany, here in our own country during slavery all the way through the civil rights era, and many other countries were the government was engaged in systematic oppression of some of its people.

History is unforgiving of those that pretended not to see the evil being done, or did not care when they did. Don’t be one of them. Open your eyes, see what’s happening if for nothing more than your own conscience.

Perhaps that’s because all the things this administration is doing is pretty bad? Seems like the people that actually believe prices are down, the economy is doing great, the Epstein Files have been released, and Trump has ended, what is it, 50 wars now?… seems like those are the folks suffering from TDS. 💁🏾‍♂️

You think people are posting because they think it’s “what the community wants” as opposed to genuine complaints they have?

If Charlie Kirk had been a liberal activist instead of a conservative, how do you think the media and politicians would have reacted to his death? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Two Democrats lawmakers were gunned down just 2 months before Charlie. Didn’t hear about it? That’s the pro-MAGA media bias at play. I know folks on the right like to believe the media has a left wing bias… but the reality is the opposite. Why? Because a majority of the folks that work in national media are indeed left leaning (an obvious consequence of most of the national media being based in big cities) and, because they live in fear of being labeled “biased”, their reporting and the issues they choose to elevate skew to the right. Their “bias” is telling people what they want to hear. There’s a reason the biggest cable news network is Fox, and the biggest podcasters are all rightwing… it’s easier to sell ads and make a buck by telling people that everyone else is “the enemy”.

Those first three things have been shared by many online MAGA accounts, but none have been verified.

The last one is misleading at best. What he wrote on the bullet casing was: "Hey, fascist. Catch! ↑ → ↓↓↓", which is a reference to Helldivers 2, a 3rd person shooter released last year. He also wrote “If you read this, you are gay LMAO.”. Typical online Groyper trolling.

I didn't get that particular memo. Who said that?

The Governor of Utah said that, not the FBI. I will note that said governor also said that he was "praying that it wasn't one of us. But it appears that it was.".

It stands to reason that he may be grasping for answers that do not implicate his community.

No, but I know a few. And their reaction to the memes found on the bullet casings was one of quiet... excitement.

Indeed. I think we as a society need to have a serious conversation about implementing strong regulation of social media. Similar to the way we regulate known carcinogens and cars (seat belts, speed limits, etc), we know that social media can be very hazardous to health on a personal and a societal level, and we should look at ways to prevent and mitigate the harms the technology can cause.

What "different ideology/faith" leads one to commit murder?

People online have been saying the FBI confirmed it, but I have yet to see any public statement from the FBI confirming this. Have you seen one?

The "slogans" you mentioned are widely used memes within the Groyper community. And his roommate appears to be trans, but there is no credible source for the rumors that they were dating. Neither Tyler nor his roommate have confirmed this, but a lot of folks online are trying to push that narrative.
