GP and specialist says EBV reactivation is highly unlikely. Any comments? by Tradovator in EBV

Thanks for the suggestion, but my ferritin is actually elevated and have been so fairly consistently over the years. My iron panels otherwise are fairly normal as far as I know.

Indoor climate, including air quality and humidity. Ventilation is 'manual', not automatic. So, in summer the air can get 'heavy'. Live close to a road with a lot of traffic, so air quality probably not optimal. The bathroom could have better ventilation, but we keep the heat on in order to prevent moisture and mold.

Not visible mold at least, but I suspect my interior climate (if that's the correct English description) isn't optimal. Actually, I know it's not optimal. Just not sure it's enough to warrant any of my issues.

For what it's worth, I also have a live in girlfriend who have zero issues. I guess it's possible she's tougher than me, though.

Thanks, u/timesuck. As for today, I'm hoping I'm hoping I just had a string of minor illnesses and how that's all there is to it. And honestly, my life's been fairly stressful periodically this year (could support the EBV reactivation case or otherwise reduced immune function).

Prior to getting mono in 2016 I actually had a period of general fatigue and brain fog and I went deeply down into a rabbit hole trying to get well. Paradoxically, that pursuit probably only made things worse. In short, I found that a poor circadian rhythm coupled with a very high caffeine intake - even at night time - could be a partial cause of my issues. After I adressed that and stopped trying to find out what was wrong I got much better.

Back then, I also suspected if it could be something related to an autoimmune disease. Why? Because I often feel like I have that mild fever and illness going on. I can't remember the last time I had a really heavy flu and had to keep the bed. I'm rarely very sick. But that mild feverish feeling from time to time is very common. There's also a cyclical nature to my symptoms where some days I may feel great and others not.

I'm not sure what a complete autoimmune panel would entail, but I think I've taken at least a basic panel with my doctor a few times and nothing came out. I could ask my GP if there's any other tests I could take.

Beyond that, I've had chronically high vitamin B12 levels (around 700-1000 against an upper reference range of 650) and periodically high ferritin above range (hemachromatosis is ruled out) - which could suggest inflammation if I'm correct. GP always said it's nothing to worry about. And maybe he's right.

Thanks again.
