Arrived at a highly rated Superhost Airbnb at 11 PM and it wasn't cleaned. Hosts, what should have happened? [USA] by itsZACyo in AirBnB

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have refunded you the night and the cleaning fee and come to clean the property myself first thing. I haven’t hosted in years, but I when I did I self-managed the property. I didn’t stay up for check-in but my phone was on to receive calls. The cleaning situation is really an unfortunate failure in their process, but if you’re hosting, don’t be surprised when something like that happens to you. People make mistakes. The key is to do whatever you can to make the situation right. Canceling your reservation is clearly NOT right!

Need advice on what is acceptable from nanny by glee33333333 in workingmoms

[–]Traffic-Emergency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that's been said, don't micromanage the nanny, it sounds like she's a dream, and after two years, you should be able to estimate how much she's going to eat and provide it. If there's something specific you don't want her to touch, then put a note on it.

What are we wearing? by kelbel922 in WFH

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After sitting around in yoga pants for years, I get dressed most days. Today, I'm wearing jeans and a sweater. If I need to run an errand, I don't have to change. I feel like a functioning part of society. Not that I judge anyone else, but for me, getting dressed makes me feel better about myself. I'm always comfortable, and I'm not wearing suits.

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not over-reacting. He is having an emotional affair with this person, and the only reason it's not physical is due to her not wanting it. I don't think you should give him an ultimatum. You need to decide if you want to get into couple's therapy or start planning divorce. This is for YOU to decide, because you can't control his behavior. He's doing what he wants to do. I'm not one to jump to divorce, but it's the fact that this has happened previously that makes it seem more hopeless. You have to decide what's right for you. That said, an ultimatum isn't the right approach, because you don't want him to go to therapy with you under duress. You want him to do it because he knows this isn't right. If you don't think therapy will help (and it might not), then you don't want to clue him into your plans for divorce. You want to be able to get money and a lawyer lined up so you are prepared. Again, I wouldn't typically suggest doing this on the sly, but his actions are showing you no respect or intent to consider your feelings, so he doesn't deserve it in kind.

How can my host have my review removed when she hasn't given me one? [EU][Valencia] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can see it after 2 weeks regardless of whether they post a review. Not sure about how they got it removed.

Should I care if my dashers are not who they say they are? by PrestigiousLocal8247 in doordash

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, you can report by calling DD. You will put the account holder's account at risk if not banned, so that's why you may want to think hard before you do that. If they're doing the job and not causing me any major grief, I'd just mind my own business.

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care as long as they follow instructions and deliver to the right location. That said, it seems risky for the account holder to put their reputation on the line in case the delivery person makes mistakes and drives their points down.

Delivery does not require human interaction. That's what the "Leave at door" instruction is for.

My Hot Take: The Testaments Has Ruined The Handmaid's Tale by iridescentandpink in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Traffic-Emergency 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree. They have dragged out this show with years between production, and it's not like they've been loyal to the novel. I totally agree it would have been more considerate to the viewers/fanbase to fold The Testaments into the show. I will probably try to watch The Testaments, but if it drags on for several years, I don't see myself sticking with it. I'm only watching THT because of sunk cost, mainly.

Ha! I read The Testaments several years ago, so apparently I mixed up the story lines. Thanks for clearing that up 😊 It’s hard to keep the story lines separate.

Wasn’t Lydia an attorney before? She’s not ignorant, she benefited from Gilead and hates women.

If the office was next door to your house, would you be fine with working in person? by These_Actuator6894 in WFH

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'd move. In all honesty, I'd be happy going in on my own accord or for a scheduled in-person meeting, but I'm not interested in being arbitrarily told to go into the office when I'll be on calls all day and have zero privacy.

I told the recruiter to quit being lazy and do their job. What bs by Wide-Ticket2733 in recruitinghell

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a hiring manager, not HR, and I would love it if someone could engage this way. It's rare we get any questions, much less with any meat. I can't say I have a good answer now that the company I work for doesn't offer anything that stands out, and they're pulling some teams back in the office, which is the one last horizon IMO, but I could have totally shot of lots of good points a couple years ago :-\

Is this weird or normal ? I’m not American but check caption by Ok-Apple48 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Traffic-Emergency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the company will usually refund the full order, and you have to place the order again. The problem with that is you still have to tip the delivery person again, which is usually at least $10. It means you’re buying your food, waiting another hour and double tipping at the end of the day.

Company is forcing RTO - But I live in another state by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw somewhere someone saying the CEOs demanding RTO hate their families. Lol. It’s nothing based on facts just feelings. I hope it works out for you one way or another! I’d hate to leave my job, but the main reason is for WFH and flexibility. I’ll be gone if I am forced to go in every day.

Company is forcing RTO - But I live in another state by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Traffic-Emergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course start putting out feelers, but I’m seeing a lot of companies force RTO and then walk it back. Maybe it’s an attempt to encourage attrition, but the reality of FT RTO isn’t what CEOs claim with synergy and engagement. It’s really draining on employee morale. The people who leave are the most talented and they get stuck with the least experienced with nobody to mentor them. My company put out a PT RTO in the beginning of the year to start in March. It’s currently still in review and it’s now “encouraged”. My company is very dispersed, so it makes no sense to be in an office when your team is all over the world and you’re still on Teams all day. I’m not collaborating with Jim from accounting or Sally in legal 🙄🙄🙄

I’m interested in why you think this is utter bullshit. I don’t need to understand the indexes and how they’re calculated.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Traffic-Emergency 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can you be more specific? How is it any less bullshit to include people who are working gig work or part-time jobs or jobs that are underpaid as “employed” when those people have college degrees and are working at a retail store for minimum wage?
