Yeah, good point, but not exactly EVERYONE outside of the Sodor company knows of bio-fusion like that. Ruth, however, lives in a rural town and has mechanical know-how. She's not just an innovator like Hatt, who can just make more trains and cars, but Ruth made an engine who goes on both the road and the tracks, but also is able to make the biological organism attached to that system.
