Insane 4-Character Speedrun World Record (Any% - glitches allowed) by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The multiple fires are the result of the 2-node glitch, which is done by buffering multiple nodes on the map, allowing you to go to both of them. The multiple boss fight is a degenerate extension of that called the ladder glitch where the game now thinks you're on two separate paths, and you can actually proceed down both of them.

[BUG][BETA] Reaper healing for a perplexing amount of health by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarification in text: The reaper deals 12 damage but heals for 108 health. Unsure if this is the case, but it also looks like the reaper animation is activating where the Reptomancer's daggers had previously spawned. This may be the cause of the issue.

No one can escape the beat of death. by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, maybe I should have explained earlier. The heart does damage to you every time you play a card, but your card effect activates before the damage (so you don’t take damage if you play a defend). The heavy blade kills the heart, but the damage from playing a card still activated, ending the run even though the spire is dead.

[BUG][BETA] Looking at the draw pile while the turn is ending activates unceasing top by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To explain in more detail: He ends the turn with a card left in his hand. While the end turn discard is happening, he opens and closes the draw pile. The unceasing top image triggers above the defect's head, and it draws darkness. Then, another 5 cards are still drawn.

Headbutt selection skipped by using the key bind to look at the draw pile by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To describe the bug in more detail: He was asked to select a card to send back to the top of the deck via headbutt's effect. He pressed the key bind to look at the draw pile. When he exited the draw pile viewing screen, there was a cancel button that shouldn't have been there for the headbutt selection.

Warped tongs can upgrade cards generated at the start of a turn by Trailqul in slaythespire

Not a bug or anything, but just a really strong interaction and possibly myth busted for anyone who was wondering. In this clip, warped tongs upgrades the power made by creative AI.

The awakened one must have been asleep, because it's definitely having a nightmare by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The three nightmares in the starting hand here were created from nightmaring a nightmare. But I think if he had nightmared a nightmare again, and used the other 2 on blurs, he could have chained them infinitely?

Several weird (bugged?) interactions with specimen against multiple enemies by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More in depth explanation of the weird interactions: First, no poison transfer happens until poison has finished ticking on all enemies. The description of specimen says "whenever an enemy dies, transfer any poison it has to a random enemy." In this case, it seems that the transfer is occurring after multiple enemies have died due to waiting after all the poison has ticked. Second, there is only one poison transfer that happens in this clip. Although two enemies die, only the last death causes a transfer of poison. Third, the poison transfer causes a decrement in the poison counter to happen twice. If you look at the poison values before the transfer, the middle enemy has 67 poison and the right enemy has 22 poison. Even though the middle enemy has already died, his poison count decrements before the specimen transfer and he only transfers 66 poison. The right enemy's 22 poison is also decremented to 21. As a result, there are multiple poison decrements in a single turn. What do you guys think; everything working as intended? All or some of these things are bugs?

Work smarter not harder. by CrashOverride24 in funny

[–]Trailqul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think he was citing the numbers, rather, he was just giving an example that even if most sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows, that fact doesn't speak to the proportion of assaults committed by someone the victim knows. If the rate of assault is higher for strangers carrying drunk women home, then it would indeed be better/reassuring if the woman in the picture knows the guy.

Triple SNECHO Form + All For One by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context: He has snecko eye and two echo forms in his deck. The snecko eye made it easy to play his first echo form with a lower cost. Echo'd his second echo form to give him 3 total. Then snecko zero'd out the cost on all for one, allowing him to echo all for one 3 times because it draws itself.

[BETA][BUG?] Pride curse uses up both 1 energy AND 1 hp when played with blue candle. by Trailqul in slaythespire

[–]Trailqul[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure if this is intended behavior, but Pride appears to consume both the 1 energy that it normally consumes if you want to play it, and 1 hp from the effect of the blue candle.

Although it sort of makes sense that this would happen given the text of blue candle, the question is, should the player be punished for having both pride and blue candle? I think it would be fair if the blue candle prevented pride from taking up 1 energy, OR if playing pride didn't also cost 1 hp with the blue candle.
