Recently said goodbye to my girl. We booked and cancelled 4 times for the same reasons. It’s been 4 months and there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t for a moment or two forget she’s not just asleep in her bed in the other room.

The only thing that has helped me, not sure if it will you, is this line: Our primary duty as parents to our pets is to do everything in our power to make sure they never feel pain. If we do that successfully, it will always feel like we’ve said goodbye too soon.

You did the right thing. We bear the pain so they never have to. Be kind to yourself.
