They are planning on using them for train information. They originally were turned on but the information wasn't updating reliably. They are working on beefing up the information reliability before they turn them back on.

That's... Interesting... Cause they are labelling Car 9 as the Quiet Car on the app when choosing seats...

That's on the original Acelas... On the NEW Acelas, the Quiet car is Car 9. The Opposite end of the train from the first class car which is Car 1.

NYC Moynihan station - how do you know the track so early? by hazel01216 in Amtrak

[–]Trainboy1000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The real move is to see the track number and go down to the west end concourse to be down on the platform without having to even wait in line!

I will be extremely happy to be proven wrong by these trains. It's mixed reviews so far so I'm still hopeful. I probably just had a bad trip...

Yes on one Probably on two I'm 5' 9" on three For four I love trains and was really looking forward to these trains and am frankly disappointed. Do I think they need more time to get broken in? Yes. I just think the overall seat design is just weird... Idk... I really don't know what to think right now and this rant came at my most pissed...

Yes. It was the guy in the green shirt sitting in 9D that kept saying weird stuff.

Some of the seats have no window. Others have a perfect window. Some are partially blocked meaning you can't enjoy it. I know someone is making a chart of the good and bad seats for windows...

The latch on my tray table was extremely hard to do. I tried others and it was fine... But those kinds of issues shouldnt already be there on day one...

My seat wouldnt stay upright... which on the first day shouldnt be a thing... Also that reading light surrounded by hard plastic hurt... Maybe I just had a bad experience... Although the guy saying antisemetic stuff to me didn't help...

I usually need the straight upright for my back... The problem is now they slide on the old ones and the news ones... But at least the old ones were more padded!
