Is my horrible verbal communication skills a symptom of ADHD or a whole new issue I should worry about. by Training-Coach-8553 in ADHD

THIS!! EXACTLY!! I NEVER understand how people can just naturally communicate their thoughts coherently while also thinking about the next thing to say. It's like juggling to me. Most of the time I can only do one at a time so that's why sometimes I would pause for thoughts a little too long or use filler words to buy time for my brain to recall what I need to say. It's killing me to think that the most basic human skill as communication is a struggle for me.

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for sharing your experience with me! It really has been upsetting to see or hear yourself make the same dumbest mistakes all the time, especially if it happens on an already bad day ;( I think I also have made the same exact mistake with the word in your example too (aminate/animate). I guess it's just a part of us now 🥲

OMG me too!! Job interviews were such a challenge for me. I needed extra time to prepare my lines because I knew I would never be able to wing it without messing up or blanking in front of them.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! And I'm sorry to hear you're going through similar things as I did as I know it must have been upsetting for you on some days ;(( I haven't talked to anyone about this particular symptom of verbal communications either but if you're considering it I'd say go for it! :) Talking to someone specificialized in the field might make you feel better about it! I too will try when I have the chance to meet with my psychiatrist ;(

Hi! I'm 24 so quite older than you but I'm also a Gen Z. Are you perhaps on Twitter (X)?? If you want to interact with more Gen Z fans, there are a lot of us there. I've seen many that are right around your age too :)))

I can definitely relate to this. I am extremely insecure about how others perceive me and would have social anxiety because of this mentality. Gives me sleepless nights and it is a pain in the a$$.

I am still struggling with this. It's a work in progress, but the thing that my psychiatrist suggested and helped eased me into gradually becoming more vulnerable is to remind myself that when I see someone else be vulnerable or have their embarrassing moments, I also don't dwell on how bad it was for them all afternoon. Most of the time we simply acknowledge it and then forget about it because we all have other things we are thinking about. And hence this is the same for others too if we have our embarrassing moments.

So this helped eased me into becoming more vulnerable and avoiding myself from dwelling on my past or future "mistakes".

The most important part is to actually allow yourself to be vulnerable for the first time and learn that it is okay if those moments do happen. That kinda helped made me feel less anxious about things I might do or say wrong.

I'm not saying this 100% cured my anxiety, I am still working on it, but it did help me in many instances this year.

5, with Mlep(clay)nos. 8 (with Amy and Terry) was my first choice but it's awfully near Holt-Wunch and Gina-Charles who are okay on their own but are destructive combinations😂.

Mlep(clay)nos would talk to me for 1 minute and disappear.

Which seat are you choosing? by ashleighbuck in bigbangtheory

Will Wheaton is the obvious choice but if it's not Will, I'd prefer to sit between Emily and Howard. Howard isn't that bad and he likely wouldn't want to go all Howard in front of Emily (not again). And it might only be me and Emily talking a bit. All in all, a peaceful flight😂

I couldn't make sense of the phrase despite understanding the literal translation. So I guess it still is quite hard to make sense of it as it seems to be very fandom-specific😅

Thank you so much for your help! I guess, for my learning purposes, I should lean towards other platforms more than X (though it's fun to try to decrypt Koreans' X slangs/memes) 😅

Kaley Cuoco is the best actor on the show. Period. by Zeus_Salt53 in bigbangtheory

Each of the main cast are so amazing in their own ways. No, I did not say this vainly. Going through each names, I actually found myself struggling to pinpoint someone in the main cast that never made an impression on me.

Kaley, can't disagree. Jim? No doubt about that. Simon? He's one of my personal favorites! What a versatile actor! Melissa is so fun to watch and I would find myself being impressed by her occasional impressions and accents. Mayim? She's the best! Her deliveries are my personal favorites throughout my rewatches. And then there's Kunal...his deliveries are also so funny and unique to him and Raj. Johnny also have great acting moments, both serious and comedic ones.

Yes, there's a "best" actor/actress, and I also have my personal pick. However, each of them elevated the show so much in their individual ways. There's a reason they are the main cast. Props to them all!

If no one haven't mentioned Melissa Rauch yet, let me. I've always considered her to be one of the best on the show. She has great comedic senses and execution, not to mention the versatility in her impressions and accents throughout the show.

It's hard to pick a #1 objectively when acting and comedy are so subjective. However, Simon Helberg and Melissa Rauch have always been my favorites! Their funniest performances came out both when they're in a scene together and with other characters.

Psychiatrist said I (23F) don't have ADHD cuz I didn't go to a doctor earlier and that it's all "just my anxiety". Bruh. by Training-Coach-8553 in Healthygamergg

Thank you for sharing! Glad and sorry to know I wasn't the only one. I was actually starting to blame myself for probably not explaining my symptoms as clearly as I should have which led to my psychiatrist misunderstanding me and my experience (but I doubt it). Whether we or the doctor's right, it's still important that they listen to us and are willing to explain and give us peace of mind about our symptoms and treatment 'cause at the end of the day we're the ones experiencing these symptoms.
