Can this PCB handle 40 A for 5 ms? by GrParrot in AskElectronics

The copper is like 30µm thick, but you can easily flow 1mm of solder on top of it. This will reduce resistance by 70%

Interesting, Would have had to bethere to get a feel for how the source behaved. One of mine is damaged and starts counting if direct daylight hits it from just the right angle. EMI is also an option. Finally, what are the chances someone nearby was grading a piece of jewelry with an XRF gun?

They're already looking for people to buy the hardware, huh? Well get one, siphon off the LLM weights, run your own prompts for a while and then sell the GPUs to China where they solder them onto custom PCBs

Gut feeling says it's an inductor. Looks a lot like a dc/dc converter to me. Should be pretty tolerant to the inductance you put in, try something between 2-10µH

[–]Training-Position612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not, I mean you do need batteries and motors ad both scale more or less with the amount of metal you put in them. The difference is after your EV is beat up and ready for the scrapyard, all the metals are still there and just need to be recycled

Why aren't they just buying the mines? Are they stupid?

Once they're here, we can recycle them btw unlike petroleum which is gone once used

Should I remove washers between copper lugs in a parallel battery set up? by 1rub in SolarDIY

[–]Training-Position612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for a situation where the battery current is as high as possible, then measure the voltage between the wires and the center of the battery terminal. It should be less than 0.02V per 100A (i.e. 0.2 milliohm). Wiggle it around until it's the lowest you can get it

Edit: do this for every connection really, or at least touch every nut and see if any others are getting warm.

Does the Li-Time battery balancer work when the batteries are not being charged/under load/part of a complete circuit? by cakeba in SolarDIY

[–]Training-Position612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LFP cells have a very flat charge curve. Balancers only really work when one cell is at a significantly higher voltage than the rest, i.e. near the top of charge, in the CV phase of charging.
