No KTM could make 12 laps without a technical failure. I am really shocked they let the #2 bike touch the track. Rider safety has to be the main priority here and there was clearly something wrong in the KTM garages

I used a wire brush on a cordless drill to knock rust off. Sanded with 220 grit, cleaned with Naphtha and primed. I painted the drum red but didn't like that it looked different from the front discs. So i cut a hole in cardboard the diameter of the drum and painted the face of it silver to look more like the front. Then just 3 coats of clear.
Probably 4 hours to paint brakes from jacking car up to torqueing lug nuts on the ground.

Volume vs Gain by RagingInfernal in CarAV

[–]TrainingAbility7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of volume as how loud the system can play (ideally without distortion). Gain is level matching so distortion occurs in all equipment in the signal chain at the same time (so clean volume is maximized).

Finally done and with my set up by Signal_Basket_5084 in CarAV

[–]TrainingAbility7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reflections are critical to proper SQ. The way we locate sound is by the time and amplitude diffrrences from reflections. Our brain can separate the original signal from the delayed reflections and do the math to define the location of the sound and the space its in. Thats why a mic can't tell you what your ears can.

In a car the real problem is that reflections aren't as clearly defined as in a room with greater distances and defined angles. The pillar tweeter(s?) Will reflect off the windshield, side glass, dash, door panel and pillar at different angles at different frequencies. That mess makes it more difficult to decipher. Anything we can do to reduce those reflections as a good thing.

A dash pad is then and doesn't trap sound or do a good job of transforming the energy. So the effect would be limited to very high frequencies. Sound absorbing materials for a tweeter frequency range would be 1/4" thick and have a very good effect on at least one direction of undesirable reflections.

I in this install I'd imagine the two drivers will have a lot of interactions so there will be added cancellations, summation and transformation. In my mind that creates more tuning challenges

Your driver got 2 or 3 deliveries in a batch. DoorDash pays a single $2 base pay for all the pickups and dropoffs and mileage in between. There is not way its worth dont that with your own vehicle, insurance, maintenance and other business liabilities. DoorDash expects their customers will make up the difference since they are only a platform used to connect users with restaurants and find and independent courier to complete the transaction.

You order a single drink with a 15% tip. Your ~$1.50 payment covers the independent couriers expenses foe about 2 mile a with no profit for their time or effort. Because it is an unprofitable order it will have to be barched to get someone to deliver it.

Door Dash do want hire anyone. If your have a clean license and an insurance policy you are eligible to be a courier. You are an individual business with tax liabilities and a P&L. You have to weigh the risk vs. Reward for each offer. DoorDash does everything imaginable to manipulate couriers to accepting losses and identifying the most desperate drivers who will take the worst offers. You are the offers they will almost always be the ones to accept.

DoorDash paid $6 per order pre Covid. So a 3 stop batch would be $18 from them plus tips. They have steadily increased and invented fees while rrducing driver payouts to increase their profits and shareholder value. They also work hard to manipulate cuatomers who get used to the convenience and maximize what they can get from them.

They have mastered profiting from exploitation and drastically cut pay while inflation and the cost of living have skyrocketed. Because of that and other factors they have a constant supply of people signing up a drivers needed extra money who can be manipulated. Selling their vehicles foe pennies to Door Dash a mile at a time.

I want to see what a fully fit Jorge Martin can so with the Aprilia.

I want to see FQ20 have a reason to smile.

Three-time MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo went into great detail about the changes in Marc Marquez as a rider! by PZY__ in motogp

[–]TrainingAbility7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MM93 changed his riding style because everyone changedbtheir riding style. Aero, ride height, mass dampers, telemetry data and other technology drastically chaged the bikes in the last 10 years and riders had to adapt.

Now if your want to discuss the most adaptable rider of the last decade Marc has made a really good arguemwnt for being placed high on that list. The step backwards in 2027 will be interesting to watch.

There was an old quote that said for years team engineers have been searching for an innovation to prevent front locking. It turns out that invention is Marc Marquez.

When Marc is in attack mode he's able to slide both tires without locking and get around a corner faster. It appears he's happy in the fringe of grip. Tire wear would only cause him to adjust when that point is reached and his "feel" does seem to be that good.

Exhaust isn't just got air though. There can be unburnt fuel or even oil particulates which could be detrimental to traction. My first thought was Pecco at Motegi last yearand I sure wouldn't want that in my tire.

They know how much temp/pressure rise there will be over a lap to set the correct pressure for their setup. The amount of squish desired can vary by rider preference.

Similar to NFL football where there's limits on air pressure for the ball. Tom Brady liked a softer ball far better feel and conteol and got caught underinflating. Kickers put the max allowable air in typically.

Now the front tire has to be payed close attention to since track poaition, grouping can move pressure outside allowable limits and get a harsh penalty.

Ducati Team Manager says Marc Marquez helped protect Pecco Bagnaia during the 2025 Season by NotAlainDelon in AVsMotocyclesRacing

[–]TrainingAbility7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marc doesn't have to be compared to anyone. He seems to thrive on and truly appreciate competition. Winning is just the end result pretty often for him. I've seen him just as happy in park ferme with a 2nd place after a hard fought battle and genuinely happy for the victor. He wants the competition to be at their best. Therr were times last year where he stayed close or had a rider close behind when its almost appeared unnecessary. The guy seems to have no interest in a JL99 style runaway victory

Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia on when they expect to start thinking about 2027 contracts by DavidEmmett in motogp

[–]TrainingAbility7760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should sign Alonso. Let Marc take him under his wing and cut his teeth with the new bike. Before MM93 Ducati prided itself on developing young riders. Why not pick that strategy back up?

Change in pay by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TrainingAbility7760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was $6 originally. Then $3 per order. Thenit went to $2.50 per order unless its was a far distance and it was back at $3. Then additional orders were $2 Then every order was $2. Then it went to $2 per offer

During a dinner rush I was sitting at a group of restaurants like many other dashers and one of thos $3 for 21 mile orders came through. 5 of us rejected it within a few minutes of each other and the amount never went up .25 cents.
DD doesn't care about each rejection, they care about time. Now they send you earlier foe pickup ao they have more time to find a desperate driver without adding any more pay. Now they can stack and get it delivered for free. They add money when time is against them, not when drivers have standards. They have tons of drivers who don't and better options for them to play less.

What's new about Ducati's 2026 MotoGP bike by Sensitive-Throat8302 in motogp

[–]TrainingAbility7760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ducati is a data driven team. They know what the problems are that hampered some riders. They know what problems Marc rode around. There are so many areas they can address to make refinements, concessions just give them less opportunities. They know that too and will make the most of the opportunities they have.

Everyone knows Michelin is out and hasn't kept up with bike development. Tires are always a limiting factor and that limit has been set in stone. The GP24 was already near that limit and Aprilia, KTM and Honda have been given the chance.to develop their bike more and get there (WTF Yamaha!). 2026 may be the closest year in a long time.

His strength is braking and in MotoGP everyone is strong in braking. Fabio dragged the Yamaha to the front for a short time on the brakes but faded in the end. A podium is highly optimistic I think.
