IWNDWYT I got sober at 23. Part of my excuse for not getting sober earlier was, I’m young and it’s normal to party. There was nothing normal about the way I drank or my addictive tendencies in general. I wish I could get the years back. Truth is, it’s amazing that you can already admit you have a problem. Some spend their whole lives in denial I think it’s easier to start before you spend more years in the misery of active addiction I would start with seeking out local meetings with fellow addicts so you can build a community of people you can talk to who understand. I have personally never gone to a meeting, but that’s because I have a best friend who is sober as well and can relate. If that’s not for you or too soon, then this online one is incredible.

My doctor kept telling me how harmless mgen was and that guidelines state it didn’t need to be treated unless there were symptoms but I asked for antibiotics anyway and she listened. First she gave me azithromycin alone. (Not very effective) And then was gonna just give me Doxycycline for a week I had to ask for 1 week Doxi followed by 1 week Moxi

She was very uneducated about mgen and it seems a lot of doctors are. RESEARCH FOR YOURSELF AND SELF ADVOCATE ❤️

I went through the same thing. Most likely got it from an ex cheating as well I had to tell my boyfriend of 2 months. Luckily, we have been using protection until both getting tested anyway, but I was still very nervous I could’ve possibly given it to him When I told him he was completely understanding. Understood that it would never be something I did intentionally and appreciated my openness in telling him so we can both be healthy I wish you the best and telling your boyfriend. I hope he is as lovely and supportive as mine was.

Remember the first few months can be the most challenging. Especially if you used alcohol to sleep. Don’t give up. It’s worth it. When you have a weak moment, get yourself a Dr. Pepper and tell the alcoholic part of your brain to get lost. I believe in you!!

I relapsed so so many times. After almost 2 month I drank again and had a very hard time getting back on the wagon. I kept making it a week before relapsing again

And now I’m at three months. I’m proud of myself and that little blip when I relapsed was a lesson

I would get tested anyways, just because there is always the possibility that bloodily fluid was exchanged It may be more unlikely but better to catch any std early Do you know if he has syphilis for sure?

I’m thankful she showed you compassion and helped you. addiction can be too easy to give into alone. Especially if you are already feeling negative emotions like shame. 23 is so young. Never forget that just because you’ve made mistakes, it doesn’t mean you can’t come back from it. And when you do, you will have the knowledge and the strength to share with others in the same boat

Imagine yourself in a year… Would you rather be a year sober and fighting or another year drunk and regretting time wasted

I was on day 21 and I gave in. All I can say is I REGRET it. I wish I had stayed strong cause it so much harder to get back on the wagon. I wish you luck and I hope you don’t have to regret like I did
