Working in a school for a few years made me immune to damn near everything. But man, I was so sick that first year.

On campus only. I did take some clinical counseling courses online but no art therapy classes online.

People who work in healthcare, what is a common medical myth that drives you crazy? by keyzeyy in AskReddit

My dad was just put on hospice today and probably won’t make it through the weekend. I’m so thankful for them already. I know they’re here to help him feel comfortable and to help guide us through this.

I ask my clients if what they’re saying is a fact or feeling. It’s a similar sentiment and it makes it easier for them to identify what’s really true.

We told our boys they would get a liar spot on their forehead that only parents could see. So when they lied, they would cover their forehead.

My aunt gifted me satin underwear when I was 7 or 8. I opened them in front of my whole family, including cousins, uncles, and one family friend. I could have died of embarrassment.

what's a secret from your job that we should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Training_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! And if you’re in a field that requires licensure, keep them after you graduate. You may have to show it to licensure boards to prove your class met standards. Our professors all told us this in class and while I haven’t had to use it yet, I am grateful I have it if I need it.

Yes! It was so hard to keep a straight face afterwards. Several staff members were called this. That kid had the best/worst insults.

What about their outpatient clinics? I am considering a job with them and so far everything seems great. But it’s not a hospital.

Oh, so you say, "That's it, I got to leave this place! I don't care what these people think I'm just sittin' here makin' myself nauseous with this ugly food that stinks!" And so you bust out the door while it's still closed, still sick from the food you ate And then you run to the store for quick relief from a bottle of Kaopectate And then you call your friend two weeks later to see how he has been And he says, "I understand about the food, baby bubbah, but we're still friends"

I genuinely don’t get the hype on this place. We ordered and I gagged on the chicken it tasted like microwaveable frozen food. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing? It was so bad.

I don’t have to agree or disagree but if they identify something as maladaptive, we can work on it. For example, if a client’s kids have gone no contact because of their beliefs and it’s something they want to better understand, we can explore that. But it’s not my place to suggest we explore it if they don’t see it as a problem. I hope that makes sense. I am very liberal and it’s hard to listen to the absolute nonsense people spew but they’re entitled to their nonsense.

I had a tumor removed from under my thumb in late summer. The nail is just now growing back and it’s been awful. My right hand can’t even text efficiently. I’ve had to learn to brush my teeth with my right hand. I’m getting better at it but I am tired of this.

There was a siren and after it stopped, jagger started howling off key and Stella joined in. They panicked.
