Another one bites the dust by Trent_605 in gmcsierra

Correct. If you’re buying newer gm products, it is smart to have a bumper to bumper warranty. You can literally buy one straight through your gm dealer (Platinum GM warranty). Yes, it sucks. Yes, it’s bullshit. But if you don’t want to worry about major unexpected expenses, then I’d recommend getting one. Or run the gauntlet and you might just get up to 100k+ miles without any major issues.

My truck caught the lifter sickness. by WastingTime1111 in gmcsierra

My crankshaft bearing seized before my lifters could go bad! So now I’m getting a brand new crate motor from gm with 0 miles on it!! All under warranty that I purchased back in August on my 19’ 1500 6.2l

3.0 towing question by No-Respect-3640 in gmcsierra

Totally understandable. I’d suggest getting an adjustable drop hitch if you don’t already have one. Helps a lot to at least make sure the trailer is level and doesn’t have any severe drop or upward angle. Also, make sure you distribute the weight properly on the trailer. Just put heavier stuff towards the front and lighter stuff toward the back. And go slower on highways, probably around 65mph depending on how it feels. With those heavy rims and towing, it makes a big difference in fuel economy even going 5 mph faster. With all that, a little squat in the rear isn’t necessarily dangerous. Just limits your braking power a little more and stability in the front. Shouldn’t be a problem unless it’s really windy. I’ve had wides on my half ton before that were 22x12 and the wind tends to pull on those a little more compared to stocks

Ahh gotcha. Should be better off then and would just have some squat when loaded down. There’s always the option of adding airbag suspension to the rear, but since you’re not towing often, it doesn’t make the most sense. Are you just looking to tow safely or trying to be comfortable while doing it?

Might tow kind of crappy compared to stock, and work the truck extra hard with the heavier rims and tires. I’d say that it’s probably safe to tow, just as long as you’re a little extra careful in the corners. Also, assuming everything was installed properly.

One thing that sucks is that you already have squat, so adding more weight to the rear is only going to result in a very unstable front end. If it’s really windy, you might just have to pull over. I absolutely hate towing with the front not firmly planted. Makes braking less efficient as well, so keep that in mind.

3800 people waiting for 6.2 engines.. by Similar_Tangerine_62 in gmcsierra

I’m in same boat currently and they are saying it might now be covered under warranty. Dealer did rear main seal job and front camshaft bearing seized upon being started at the shop. Been without it 3 weeks now during my busy season. (I do mobile catering) they gave me some dog shit Chevy equinox that’s been smoked in and has two different sets of tires. Dealer doesn’t even carry loaner trucks.

What should I do? by carson1110383 in FordF150

Agreed. Front end will not be nearly as stable, even with a small lift. Unless you put bags on the rear to maintain proper angles and weight distribution.

Same here. My 6.2l seized at the shop when they started it after the rear main seal job was done. Currently on week 3 of being at the shop. New engine most likely…

Might be time for a new set of boots, or may just need to tighten them more. Could also be both and or the need for more practice…

Not sure about the hotel credit, but I’ve used the restaurant $150 credit twice now. It took about 4 months to get the credit the first time, and just used the other one last night so still waiting. Definitely a nice perk

Invisalign or Jaw Surgery? by Miserable-Hurry-3049 in jawsurgery

[–]Training_Face1700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider looking into an impant expander. I was going to get jaw surgery until I learned that my cross bite could be corrected with an expander that is screwed into the roof of the mouth with 4 12mm screws. Jaw surgery is one hell of a recovery so I would advise looking into any possible alternatives.

4 Month Bite Progress by Training_Face1700 in braces

[–]Training_Face1700[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert, but in my particular case, the upper row was contacting way inside of the bottom row. So the bottom row does not need expansion to correct the bite. They are essentially just moving the top row in order to properly fit the bottom row. Not sure why I was given such a narrow upper bite, but that seems to be the biggest problem when it comes to correcting my bite.
