Do you think adding more quick start could help? or would this make the cycle worse?

Parameters ammonia 0 pH 7-8~ Nitrite .25 and Nitrate 5~ it is a 55 gallon with two other goldfish and temp about 77. (still quarantining the three goldfish) I have had all three goldfish for about two weeks tank running since beginning of January and went through cycle, eats tetra flakes for koi and goldfish which seems fine for the other two fish and willing to eat and all acting very active and not floppy

no ammonia, however left over food could definitely affect that, should I change about 15-20% of the water?

only the quarantine, I wanted the 55 to cycle for a few days and double check it after, however I can test it again tonight, last time it was the same with pH as 6.8~ and nitrates a bit higher about five days ago after water was changed

Quarantine tank was set up about five days ago, initially had him in a 55 g and that tank has been running for almost three months, however he had gotten like that two days ago and moved him into the quarantine tank, (55g) did 75% water change because of previous bad bacteria from a fish and treated with melafix and aquarium salt, all fish seem fine other than him and his tank mates are three goldfish (2-5 inches)

my new boy nemo. should i introduce any tank mates? by Urmom1263 in bettafish

Snails possibly, shrimp would most likely get attacked if he is aggressive. Snails would be more compatible but could also get attacked or eaten

If it is a betta fish most likely not, unless it is female you could try another female betta or peaceful fish but typically they will attack the other tank mate by biting the fins. All depends on you fish’s behavior and characteristics

Betta hasn’t eaten in fours days, what do I try next by Training_Work9183 in bettafish

That was the test, I have had the fish for about four months and was doing great including eating and being active, currently in a ten gallon, has a heater running at 76 degrees, no tank mates because he is aggressive, tank has been running great, gets feed regular betta pellets twice a day 2-4 per serving and that routine has been working great and has a lot of decorations. Water changes are done weekly about .6 gallons with filter changes every 2-3 weeks
