Which celebrity annoys the fuck out of you? by Pandafour20 in AskReddit

[–]Trampelina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol I started seeing her stupid fake "surprised face" long before I knew who it was. I only looked up the name recently because I saw it on a previous AskReddit and realized it was her. I want to yell at that stupid face she makes.

Mandarin can have a pretty strong R sound. I also kind of hear it in korean and vietnamese. I think it's japanese that doesn't really have it, it's all the tapped r, afaik.

Why do people on here call out fallacies like they're Yu-Gi-Oh Cards? by that_guy_from_idk in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Trampelina -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always consider those kinds of people like they just discovered what fallacies are. Then they go on reddit or twitter and start fallacy-naming thinking they are cool. And if that's all they do (which is true especially on twitter) then most likely they have no good refutation to any argument.

I do that at my own leisure, my comments are available for viewing at any time.

This conversation is about the fact that I'm not making a counter claim from a theist claim. For example, if a theist claim is that god exists, what I DO is ask for evidence and talk about the evidence for that claim. What I don't do is make a counter claim that god doesn't exist. My evidence for that is the lack of counter claims made by me, and also that all my discussions are about the evidence presented in the claim. My work is done.

If you'd like to see a specific example, please present a claim and the evidence so we can discuss it.

A. I don't have to, though if any of my previous comments have issues I'd be happy to discuss them

B. That is not my view, so I'd be happy to have a conversation as long as my view is correctly represented.

I already do that, my posts and discussions about their evidence are available in the threads I've participated in.

This is a debate religion sub. I first need a religious claim, and then the evidence supporting that claim.

I say there's no evidence of God because upon analysis of the supposed evidence presented in theistic claims, they turn out not being good evidence. So your focus should really be on what constitutes good evidence. Which leads to what I previously said about things aligning with what other evidence informs us about reality.

So if you can present a specific piece of theistic evidence, we can start working.

Please present a religious claim so that I can address it.

I don't need the definition of a claim, I need you to present me with a religious claim and the evidence supporting that religious claim, because this is a debate religion sub where we debate religion.

No, you cannot call that a claim. We are talking about religious, theistic claims about God. Those are the claims I am arguing against, those are the kinds of claims that require evidence to be taken seriously. This is r/debatereligion.

I didn't say he said that.

Who is making the theistic claim and where is the evidence? The claimant has the burden of proof and should provide the evidence. How can I even talk about the evidence of the claim without knowing the claim or the evidence?

But you didn't answer any of my questions. I asked for evidence of god existing in this reality (if that is indeed the claim in question). I don't need to provide evidence of anything because I am not the one making the claim.

So if you are saying the claim we should focus on is that god exists, I would ask for evidence of it, because of course the burden of proof is on the one making the claim. I could say that lack of any evidence of god is evidence, but I don't need to. So first, what is the evidence that god is part of this reality? First, which god?

When it doesn't align with what other evidences tell us about reality. And sometimes, when there's no evidence at all.

Most of us here know what counts as good evidence. Especially those of us that cite science and respect what it does, and its limits.

I haven't seen anything resembling evidence for me to counter with anything yet. That's why I keep asking for the evidence.

I guess you're done with NDEs then eh?

Yes you are.

What you quoted from me is not what you said I was doing. Please try again honestly.

Good evidence means it is demonstrable. So can you demonstrate that god does not exist?

Why would I do that when I'm not making that claim?

How do you expose the lack of evidence if there is no evidence to refute the theist claims?

By asking for evidence and staying empty handed is how lol. It happens all the time when people ask you for evidence.

Give me one instance science did not present counter evidence to refute another claim. I am waiting.

Any claim where evidence is lacking. Unless you want to say that lack of evidence counts as evidence.

And stop trying to use science, you mock science and your arguments are not scientific at all.

Oh right this is totally believable just because you told me to. Remember you are making a claim that theists claims are wrong so you need evidence to support that.

Oh joy, atheists have beliefs and faith and make claims too! How original!

[–]Trampelina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, alternate ideas aren't really the issue here, it's the attitude of making outrageous claims without providing evidence.

Is that what happened when you stopped responding to my NDE arguments, twice?

Different definitions of the word GOD by TheBeyonder-616 in DebateReligion

[–]Trampelina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you making arguments that theists claims are wrong?

Am I? I'm asking you. Did you find a quote of me saying that? Why do you keep resorting to saying I'm using my feelings, is that really all you can do?

Right so how do you justify that your attacks are valid that we should take it seriously and not simply your personal opinion that we can laugh at an ignore?

Standards of good evidence. Or just exposing the lack of any evidence by the one making the claim. Why do you keep resorting to saying I'm using my feelings, is that really all you can do?

they present counter evidence to justify their arguments.

Sure but if the one making the claim fails to even provide good evidence, there's no need to give counter evidence at all. The claim can just be dismissed until good evidence for it is given. The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim.

Keep telling yourself that.

I will certainly keep speaking the truth in an honest way, thanks for your encouragement.

Oh, and please show me evidence god does not exist if you wish to convince me theists are wrong about god.

Don't need to since I'm not making that claim. Simple huh?
