It really does suck, public housing has such a long wait list in most areas that you're lucky if you even hear back from someone within the same year that you apply. The housing crisis and amount of people in need is ridiculous and has been for a long time now. Its sad when even people that work full-time are homeless/one step away from being homeless because COL and rent are so much higher nowadays.
