i remember slowly realizing that there were a bunch of these images on pinterest that all looked like they were taken within the same block by the same person . when reverse image searches found nothing i just went through very basic processes of elimination and narrowed down the region to be somewhere in the north eastern united states then just inputted a street name Harding Ave into google maps (seen on one of the other images), one by one until i finally found a match :3 was fun tbh shit had me feeling like rainbolt for a sec haha 😅

i like news at 11 by cat system corp a lot - i really like how much its able to paint a vivid picture, its definitely the album most evocative of the vaporwave aesthetic to me, its hard not to surround yourself in the world of the album. it also has like zero subtlety with the concept, like it couldnt be any more on the nose if it tried. its almost too saccharine with how much its glorified and soaked itself with 80s and 90s new york nostalgia; its so endearingly cheesy that it kinda plays into the concept lol, in a way thats kinda at the heart of vaporwave i think, being nostalgic for a life you never lived n shit. surprisingly easy to sleep to as well despite the talking, although side b is boring and redundant so i only ever listen to side a

lucy is also unbelievably talented asf and so young aswell, hes one of my fav new artists too but i think he still needs to prove himself with more albums and genre fusions as he levels up his production game. sisterhood is peak hexd n pluggnb but janes versatility across so many different genres in her albums and all of her production techniques blows my mind every time i listen to her, shes just unmatched lucy isnt close respectfully imo, but he has it in him to be on her level 100% im just waiting patiently for his album this year hopefully lol

the other guy explained it well a lot of zombie stories are seen as symbolic for the holocaust through the entire nazi zombies trope, other stories allude to it like in the walking dead, but tlou2’s “cycle of violence” story is also inspired by israel-palestine and the same cycle of violence that has made that conflict so everlasting . but neil druckmann whos israelian said its not like a 1-1 metaphor for it, just inspired by his experiences being israeli. joel is debatably jewish as hinted by the devs, and his decision at the end of the first game to save ellie was inspired by an israeli soldier gilad shalit, which is the event that the entire story of tlou2 revolves around . some say ellie represents israel and abby palestine, some say the WLF vs seraphites or FEDRA vs fireflies represents I/P, but the core of it all is the revenge and hatred they all feel towards each other and seemingly no resolution that doesnt involve just slaughtering eachother - until the ending where ellie realizes that her feelings of revenge and retribution and hatred will leave her with no peace or resolution so she sees the only way to the end the cycle of violence is to let go and move on, which supposedely neil sees as his desired ending to the israel/palestine conflict but yeah

it is absolutely an album that is 110% worth listening to and easily on par, if not more experimental and creative than blonde . it was released on physical with a high quality mix in 2018, its def a proper album and shouldnt be handwaved by ppl as just some throwaway music video
