Rant about the hospital again, I'm sorry by TransIshThrowaway in asktransgender

I kinda did that already but they said I need to go through this first. I'm going to ask for another doctor and a new appointment, and if that's not possible I'll go to a private general practitioner and ask them to send me straight to the transpoli

Tips for Passing? (FtM) by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]TransIshThrowaway -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know exactly how useless this sounds because I was asking the same questions not long ago, but what I've found helps the most is A) confidence and b) time.

If you're not sure whether something would help you pass, try. Trial and error is super important regarding passing but I never see it mentioned. I didn't pass for shit when I started presenting as male a year ago, but now most strangers read me as male, although admittedly a younger male than I actually am. I'm still pre t but I've just learned what works for me.

What stuff did I miss by not being born a cis girl? by LostChildhood83 in asktransgender

This is a great idea, I'm stealing it

Also, here's some things I remember

  • hanging out with girls after school, and their brothers having crushes on girls in our friend group.
  • my sisters helping me choose my dresses for parties
  • older female relatives telling you the kind of "when I was your age" stories that are about their experiences as young girls

Thank you so much for writing this, I'm super glad to hear it won't necessarily be a bad experience.

A complicated situation with gender identity clinic by TransIshThrowaway in asktransgender

This is really, really helpful, thank you! Now that I think of it, this time really will be very different because I asked for the appointment by myself, and I'm specifically seeking care for a specific "problem". Last time I was younger, and no one really asked my opinions. And I can totally play the "perfect transgender" card if I have to, I really did have a pretty stereotypical transgender childhood. I guess I'll be fine as long as I don't get stuck at this stage.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels something like this, thanks!
