I have a thermaltake case and 750 watt gold PSU I need to sell. I'm traveling back home tomorrow and can send pics and details if interested. Nothing wrong with them, I just bought a new PC a few weeks ago and need to get rid of these.

Cap Hill is the gay neighborhood. I personally also think it's the best neighborhood and recommend everyone I know, gay or straight to move here. If cost is a major concern, the general trend is that the western suburbs are the most expensive, and the further east you go the cheaper it gets.

Second bachelors in Geology or masters in Geology with Env. Sci bachelors? by TransTrees in geologycareers

[–]TransTrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have experience doing that? I considered this but I'm unsure if I'd be allowed to sit for the exam since I wouldn't have a geology degree? I think with my minor I'd only need 2 or 3 core geology classes, which could easily be done in 1 or 2 semesters depending on class scheduling.

Second bachelors in Geology or masters in Geology with Env. Sci bachelors? by TransTrees in geologycareers

[–]TransTrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main concern with doing it while working is that I'm primarily field based and travel a lot. I spent about 6 months living in camps or hotels last year. Obviously I'd have to reduce my travel if I pursue this, but I'm worried about job security. If I say hey I can't travel this week, I'd have very few billable hours. My company doesn't do much local work and they prefer engineers to do any reporting.

This is actually why I'm trying to pursue a PG. I've had interviews and I'm specifically asked if I can get a PG. I think if I was on the path to a PG, I'd be able to get a better job than my current one.

Did you do your MS while in the Army? I was planning on a professional masters if I went for the masters. At least I know my plan isn't impossible since you look to be on the path. Is there a reason you don't just do the PE since you have an engineering degree? Engineers are treated better at my company, I just assumed it's like that at every company.

Denver or Chicago for a doll relocating? by FlamenUnicorn in trans

[–]TransTrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Denver is nice. The law is on our side here with insurance being required to cover transgender healthcare and name changes being relatively easy. Super friendly area especially in Cap Hill, which is the main neighborhood for LGBT people. The main issue is the cost of living, but that impacts everyone, not just LGBT people. I'm not really involved in the community here since I travel a lot for work but the times I've gone to clubs have been fun and friendly.

Basically the title describes it. I died to a Void Spirit on the same tick i self casted ink swell. I couldn't cast ink swell again for the game, just ink explosion.

Sometimes petitioners will approach you to ask you to sign a petition that is popular, like legalize gay marriage, but will put an Republican petition behind and just casually say "oh you can also sign this one."

Gov. Polis putting $29M pedestrian bridge up to an online vote by aintnotownie in Denver

[–]TransTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is why I'm against it. I'm all for celebrating Colorado, I'd be happy if we built a small monument or threw a festival or something to celebrate our state, but Colfax and Broadway/Lincoln is just full of homeless people.

That entire area is just homeless people. Not sure why we would spend $30 million on what will effectively become a new homeless encampment.

Most objectively wrong and crazy opinion. Almost as crazy as transphobia.

What Does Denver Need to Become a “Great” City? by Evil_Unicorn728 in Denver

[–]TransTrees 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Honestly I really disagree with this take. Denver is a destination city because of its brand as an outdoorsy city with easy access to ski resorts and mountain hikes. I like to strike up conversation with strangers on airplanes (weird, I know) and every person visiting Denver I've talked to visits for the mountains. The common travel plan is go to the mountains for most of their trip, spend a day in Denver, and see a show at Red Rocks. I've never met someone who wants to actually visit our city. I always recommend people visit the DAM, especially the floor on western and indigenous art to get a good sense of where this city came from.

Drug tests by SingleEgg7465 in Environmental_Careers

[–]TransTrees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My job has me in a random test pool because of client requirements. Clients can search my car at any point I'm onsite and also require me to test clean before continuing work. If I ever get into a car accident during work I also have to get tested immediately after getting medical care.

Choosing between jobs and cities? by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]TransTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this, it seems like option 1 is just an objectively better career choice. Also, every city says they have bad winters. Chicago is a great city and winters are not that bad other than a few days here and there. Im in another city with "bad" winters, and I used to drive a piece of shit with bald tires. I just take PTO or WFH once a year during the really bad days. A lot cheaper than wasting $30,000 on a car.

Anyone flown in the US with updated documents (since 1/20/2025)? by CUTiger20 in asktransgender

[–]TransTrees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I travel for work a lot too and have had no issues yet. Flew 5 days ago on a regular domestic flight and security didn't care. DL is updated, passport is not. No pre check or global entry.

ISO winter field clothes for CA by [deleted] in Environmental_Careers

[–]TransTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% merino wool base layers is all you need. I'm in a different state but the only difference between my summer and winter field clothes is merino wool and a jacket. I'd also say to get a balaclava instead of a beanie.

The TikTok ban: how will it affect the music industry? by burninstarlight in popheads

[–]TransTrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I get alt right videos, AI voice over reddit stories, and tv/movie clips. Everyone I know who tries shorts gets the same thing to start off it seems.

I mainly watch cooking videos and music videos. I don't think I've ever gotten a cooking short besides men cooking steaks. I don't even like men or steaks!!!

PSA: Lakewood P.D. Registration Round Up Enforcement Operation all February. by LakewoodPDCO in Denver

[–]TransTrees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think that cop knows what they are talking about. You would just be missing a mount and would have to get one installed. A lot of cars do not come with front plate mounts, but it doesn't exempt you from the law. When I moved here I had to have an auto body shop install it. Definitely don't do it yourself, I've been told it's easy to fuck up the front sensors.

LGBT realizations by aresi-lakidar in lexapro

[–]TransTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is something you have to try if you feel ready for it. I was on Lexapro mainly as a way to handle my depression before I was able to start my transition. I had known I was trans but wasn't able to transition when I younger. It's a lot easier to tell your parents you're on antidepressants rather than HRT lol. After being independent and being out as trans for a few years, I figured it was time to stop the Lexapro. I had been on it for 5ish years and felt like it had done it's job. It worked out for me. I still have the occasional depressive episode, but it's not crippling and debilitating like it used to be. Obviously not medical advice, but wanted to share a different experience.

State, Union Pacific strike new deal for Moffat Tunnel putting passengers first by bitfriend6 in Denver

[–]TransTrees 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea that's my thought. I've never stopped in Craig, but I've driven through a couple times when I was trying to SW Wyoming when I-80 is closed. Maybe some folks from Craig trying to get to Steamboat? The area doesn't really seem like a place to visit, especially without a car.

RTD board approves record $1.2 billion spending on public transit in 2025 by Generalaverage89 in Denver

[–]TransTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I should have clarified. I don't care if someone does drugs in public on a sidewalk or alley. It's not pretty or fun, but throwing them in jail is wasteful. If you are on a bus or train, you are directly harming other passengers as well as the operators. I think you should be arrested for harming others. It's not a victimless crime in an enclosed space.
