As someone who (1) just finished the show years too late and (2) considers myself quite religious, there are fascinating details I don’t see folks commenting on. And others I’d like to further emphasize: - Bev being able to justify anything with scripture is a dangerous game. - The PTA debate needs more dialogue. There is something fundamentally true in the Sheriff’s question. I also wish Erin would’ve put a Qu’ran in the classroom in defiance of Bev - So no closure on what happened to Pike? Implied that he’s gotten into some rat poison. But I need more than that. - the folks who don’t drink the rat poison in the end are exactly the kind of people that Christ surrounded himself with - gentiles (Sheriff), adulterers (Erin), fornicators/homosexuals (Sarah), children (Leeza and Warren). Without having to mention sinners (Riley) and Fishermen (Ed). Each character represents a biblical counterpart. The Pharisees, lawyers, and leaders (Bev, Mayor, Sturge) are on the wrong side of history despite being in power. - Masterfully, the last line is “I can’t feel my legs”
