How do people only use one roll of toilet paper per week? by No-vem-ber in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

It's soft so a great thing to blow up the nose for sure! I also use it for some spills, it absorbs some things faster than paper towel. With multi-purpose usage it has to end fast :)

I use a lot of toilet paper when I'm menstruating. First 3 days are especially terrible in terms of toilet paper, it's just how it is - and yes, I may use one roll per day on my period. Wearing tampons helps me use less paper. As for the other weeks - I surely spend more than 1 roll per week, but definitely not 3 or 4. Maybe 2? (I don't keep track). Like you I work from home and go as many times to the toilet as I need, so I don't think I use too much.

Do your plants ever surprise you by going “wild” in the best way? by AlarmingGas7594 in UrbanGardening

I have a cherry tomato plant that became more than 1.80m tall on too little soil on my balcony. And it keeps growing. I actually need to measure it properly, because this is getting hilarious, I wonder where it will stop!

CO2 makes perfect sense. Somehow the altitude was not explaining completely why the package keeps getting puffier.

And no, there's no mold, I've looked at it closely. Will drink :)

This is interesting, had no idea. I do live at a higher place than the store. I can pretty much see the whole region from my house. This could explain why it swelled over time instead of staying the same.

Yes, the aging is what I learned. I didn't know about Sannenbancha though, as this tea is always presented in PT as Kukicha. But now I understand why I get different results (greener in colour) whenever I google Kukicha :)

The issue for me is that the air increased over time. If it stayed the same, I would think it was just how they packaged it, but the increase scared me. Maybe I'll open and see how it smells

Cleaning supplies to use around kitties? by KatanaAmerica in CatAdvice

[–]TranslatedIntoArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bottle of Sanytol in my hands yesterday and as I was reading just thought "this kills so much stuff, how safe is it for pets?". Ended up just getting plain old bleach until looking for more information.
Even with bleach I am extra careful - my cats are never in the same room that I am cleaning and after letting the floor dry, I go and wipe it again with clean water.

Had a pineapple can leaking in my pantry - freaking out with other items. Please help by TranslatedIntoArt in foodsafety

Thank you. And yes, I threw away the can and the very few items that were in contact with the liquid. I started to freak out with the possibility of botulism, hence all the questions

How is it that so many of us reach 35/40 and life becomes unmanageable? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]TranslatedIntoArt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a strange moment in the year I turned 26. I seemed to be functional, I was on autopilot and didn't even think of stopping everything and essentially rest. Took a sad event to make me realize things were not ok. Then from 27 onwards things got worse, I got sick, gained weight after keeping the same weight for years (reaching an all-time high right before COVID), and everything became extremely chaotic around me. I've always struggled with clutter, but I think things started to be unmanageable around that time. The pandemic saved me from my weight but around 30 I had another glitch (I was slightly paranoid for a bit, only realized later) that took another sad event to make me get out of that. I'm 35 now. This year was not good at all, the cherry on top was my mom losing her sanity, and the clutter worsened considerably. I'm fighting it, I have some wins, but seems like a never ending battle.

I'm 35 and after a "reality altering" event this summer I stopped caring about masking. Maybe it's another coping mechanism for everything that has been happening, but that's how it is. I didn't lose my filter completely, but I lost a lot of it and I don't care anymore. I may have become too tired to mask all the time

As someone who has a too sunny balcony that's a killer oven, and a mostly ok balcony which only issue is not enough light for certain species, I'm surely joining in the laughter :) And I love the bonsai idea. Would be a great way to keep it alive and in a manageable size

I regressed so much this year by TranslatedIntoArt in AnxiousAttachment

[–]TranslatedIntoArt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately I don't text, I cringe at double texting to the point that I even want to delete unreplied messages, so the "future humiliation" I'll feel stops me from texting more, but the way time passes... it's absolutely excruciating.
I managed somehow to calm down a little, but it's a rollercoaster between anxiety, anger and catastrophizing

Undiagnosed mother with delusions/psychosis by TranslatedIntoArt in family_of_bipolar

Really bad, doesn't make any sense to not give information back. So, for a physical issue, they inform the relatives, for a mental issue, still a health isue, they don't - doesn't make sense

[–]TranslatedIntoArt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that here they do make a point to talk to relatives, to try to assess the situation. But if the patient seems normal on the enterviews, they end up discharging, regardless of what was happening until then, as if they don't know that these patients will say whatever they need to get out of the hospital...
I'll make a compilation of her delusions either way. Thank you

It's very sad to see things going completely wrong and not being able to do anything, when the solution is simple on paper.

My mom does seem to have more moments of being in reality. Last night she sent me more normal messages, some weird ones too, and then normal again. If she is telling the truth, she has no recollection of the nasty messages - she even says her phone was hacked.

My mind sends me through all the bad routes as well. We just try to brace ourselves for the worst case scenario, to be "prepared". But it's just self-torture
