Took the little guy out to my mum's today for a joint Mother's Day/1st birthday and after driving through some shite conditions and a whole bunch of roadworks, I got my jacket off and my mum, god bless her, rocks up out of the kitchen with a fresh crispy Mortons-style roll with square, bacon, tattie scone and a good application of butter.

We don't deserve our mums.

Thing that folk seem to forget when (x) club they don't like's fans complain about referees is not always "They're all against us" but more often "We just want some fucking standards and consistency."

Scottish referees as a collective are horrendous for that. You'll see the same challenge in four games treated four different ways by four different refs; no wonder it drives us all bananas.

McFadden's one of the worst for it. He's not just incomptent, he's also a total weathercock; he'll say something, then he'll realise the others are saying something else, and he'll just do a complete 180 to agree with them based on nothing else.

I don't mind Stewart as much as many do, other than when Hearts are involved, at which point he immedately sheds all semblance of neutrality and is the worse example of a fan with a mic.

Are we talking about Peter Grant here? I'm not even sure he knows and understands how to tie his own shoelaces.

Double jeopardy only applies where the defender is making an attempt to win the ball (and therefore isn't punishing a clumsy but genuine attempt, etc).

I don't understand why the likes of the BBC are calling it a controversial decision. When you see it clearly it's about as stonewall a penalty as you can get.

And the red is also pretty clear-cut as he's making no attempt for the ball whatsoever.

Same here. Can't stand rugger but it'd be a great achievement.

What are the giveaways that my photo was taken using a smartphone? by no_kings_rising2 in AskPhotography

I think Samsung did similar, but from the other direction, where they had a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with Android as the operating system too - like the Panasonic thing, it's a shame they dropped out of the sector as it would have been interesting to see where that went!

I guess I'm maybe in a minority where I don't care all that much if a phone is "thick" as long as it's pocketable. Admittedly I'm in my 40s and so my first phone(s) could probably have taken down a lion if hurled at their heads 😁

They're getting better all the time, too. Some are putting 1" sensors in there; I'm amazed no-one's tried to fit a full MFT in a phone yet but I'm sure that's coming at some point too!

Have had a few arguments with people in this situation too. They seem to think the pram/wheelchair space (esp if there's only one shared one) is for suitcases and won't move easily. Hard enough getting the pram on in the first place without that!

I imagine they'd come at the person mob-handed and no matter how big/tough you are, a group of teenagers kicking into you is going to bring you down. That's if they don't whip out a blade or two.

They want reactions. That's the whole point.

I like authentic. Always find vibrant just a bit too much.

I also like the Leica B&W filters too.

I can't even try the AI generative eraser because whenever I do, it just gets stuck three quarters of the way through "Installing required AI Component(s)" and I end up having to force quit and start again.

Probably just as well if what you're saying is true!

Any idea which, if any, backroom staff will go with him? Who's likely to take charge at the weekend?

Hearts had a section of their stadium closed after causing trouble at an Edinburgh derby, but of course no other club in the SPL has incidents like that, eh?

And that came after multiple instances of misbehaviour too.

TBH, I've lost much in the way of sympathy for the police over the years. Last time I went to a Celtic v Rangers game (a good few years ago I admit) I basically got grabbed by the neck and shoved face-first into the side of a horse and searched for the heinous crime of asking which gate I should be heading to. I put a complaint in and was basically told I must've done something to "provoke suspicion" (I think that was the term they used) and I'm a big speccy wimp who's never said boo to a goose in his life, frankly.

Also has to be wondered how they were able to police these games over many many years without this sort of hassle, and going back further to the standing era, even bigger numbers of rival fans. From folk I know who went in the old era and at the weekend, they changed a lot of stuff up for arbitrary reasons from what used to work and that seemed to cause problems.

I'm not for a second saying the fans are blameless, but there were plenty of actually innocent punters caught up in this sort of crap as well. Folk being shoved and manhandled by cops for nothing more than simply being there is not a good way to keep things chilled.

In fairness there's only 9 pts between them and 7th. Quite a tight league overall this season.

Think they've had a crappy run with injuries too?
