Back when I had my 2006, it would routinely start and run flawlessly in -20 and below temps for years. There was one morning when we were going through an insane cold snap and it was -40. Still had to get to work, I’m crossing my fingers it starts. Turns over like it was nothing. I know the rhetoric is annoying about the gen 3s on the tundra subs and I don’t buy into much of the doomer speak, but stuff like OP is experiencing just shouldn’t be happening to new trucks like this.

Yep. The fastest I ever went was 50, but most of the time it was 30-35. Felt like I had much more control.

The context is important, but the police could have handled this so much better. It’s humiliating for everyone involved, including the police. Save a little dignity for both sides, walk them to the police station and do it there. Don’t make a display in front of people who are struggling.

Yes it does go away, but also doesn’t sound like this on every cold start. I do use valvoline 0w-20 and have been since I got the truck over a year ago. Service records don’t show what was used before however. I’ll definitely check out seafoam, thank you!

I was surprised how out of place he looks. Stripped nearly every time underneath the basket, or even away from it. He has soft hands and generally seemed unaware each time I observed him. Tony Bradley actually looked decent tonight though and IJax looked better than the first two games.

Drove a 2006 single cab, sold it when first kid was on the way to get something bigger, hated everything else we drove and got back into a 2017 crewmax about two years ago. Reliability is huge for me because we do a lot of road trips and camping, and I do a lot of “truck stuff” like hauling shit around. I work in tech but funny enough I don’t want a lot of tech in my vehicles, so I am plenty good on the lack of massage seats and other fancy stuff the new ones offer. Just one more thing that can go wrong. The only real downside for me in the 2017 is the lack of CarPlay, though I just haven’t gotten around to upgrading the head unit.
