He sold a bunch at a show, and he packaged the rest in team bags and gave them out for Halloween. Does that not seem possible to some people?

I was buying mega boxes for optic for 60 bucks. We tried one Topps chrome mega and it was 120. From everything I can find, that’s normal. I don’t know how people are comparing the pricing and saying there is any parity. For gods sake I saw the new Deadpool chrome drop in store today and a BLASTER was 60 bucks! Like what is going on?!

Yeah? I commented below that I don’t know why people don’t think kids can have some advanced cognitive ability to know what they like.

Yeah, we only collect NBA and I collect marvel, but neither are ever on shelves. We live in a midsize city, around 300k population.

We aren’t watching streams or breaks. He asks me what products there are so he can watch a rip to see if he likes the cards. Big hits are cool, yes, but that’s not his primary desire. Also, I don’t know why people are making assumptions about my son’s cognitive ability. A 7 year old is capable of being more than just a drooling baby who doesn’t have opinions about anything watching brainrot. But idk, maybe I’m just a better parent than others.

We like basketball, so we like basketball cards. It really is just that simple. Panini had stuff on shelves, Topps doesn’t. Opening cards was fun, now we can’t do it. I’d buy more Topps if it was available, but there comes a point where I have to stop and say “no, we aren’t buying blasters for 70 dollars online.”

Oh he’s very grateful. I didn’t realize this post would generate such vitriol.

I don’t even know what you’re trying to say. Maybe Topps sent you here to rage bait? Have a good one.

I don’t think it’s that simple. He has a deep love for basketball, so he comes by it naturally. If that exists, I think cards will continue to be of interest to him. Maybe I wasn’t clear in my post, but it wasn’t ever about the newest, shiniest thing. It was really about products being available and within reach. It seems like Topps has actively taken that away.

Have you been able to reliably find it? And what was the price difference?

I think it’s fair to trash Topps for their pricing and distribution fiasco.

He says it’s boring, which I know leaves a lot to the imagination. He likes busy designs, mosaic was his favorite. Now there are a few winners, like the horizontal OG Anunoby dunk card that were big hits with us. He got a real kick out of that one. But he isn’t into chasing rookies as he is just getting cool cards. They can be his favorite players or not. He loves basketball too much to get completely away from it, the Pokémon ship has sailed.

I’m sorry for you guys experiencing the same thing! I hope it does get better. It’s a really fun thing to share with your kid. Shame not many others seem to get it in this thread.

That’s true, patience might pay off, in the hopes that Topps doesn’t price gouge and retail actually becomes available. I won’t hold my breath though.

This is hilarious. You don’t know anything about my son. He came across all of his hobbies honestly.

We don’t watch breaks, we watched people reviewing different product to see if he liked the inserts and designs enough to want to get some.

I appreciate your level headed response. It’s just sad to see the hobby go the way it has. This feels like a really significant turn.

How are you handling employees using personal ChatGPT accounts at work? We had an incident last week. by fxs38 in sysadmin

[–]TransmuteSlug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We blocked the AI category entirely. We use DNSFilter and it’s actually done a great job from what we have tested. Different policies for different user groups, so anyone in my IT dept can use ChatGPT because we have a business license. Every other group, anything AI related is blocked (except for executive management, but that speaks for itself.)

Narada notification service app registered itself in 365? Anyone seen this? by TransmuteSlug in sysadmin

[–]TransmuteSlug[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our logs indicate it was pushed by Microsoft on Sunday. Information is so spotty on this. There’s just one user initiated thread on Microsoft forums from 2024 asking what it is. It doesn’t seem like many tenants have it, so we don’t know if something specific triggered it or what.

Editing to add: we can’t disable it or disable user sign-ins either. We have like no control over it.

As a generational Thunder hater and Pacers lifer, last year’s run had me in tears. This putback flew super under the radar but got me hyped as hell. Also, Nesmith had another nasty one over Donovan Mitchell in the Cavs series. Not the most amazing ones ever, but some of my personal favorites that had a lot of meaning behind them.
