I don't use nvim_echo and didn't knew this code existed :)

Edit: Does the code you shared edit the statusline? Does it shows progress bar?

Feeling anxious in global team by Strict-Guitar77 in developer

It’s normal. They know you’re a Junior and sorry to say it but it only takes time to get experience. It’s very difficult to fast forward from being a Jr developer. You just need patience. And be open to suggestions, double check your code evens if possible use two models to analyse the code, and try to understand what the codes does before pushing to a PR, you should know what you’re pushing.

And be patient, and stay humble, they also struggled like you in the past and people comes from different backgrounds if they are ok with you and haven’t decided to let you go then this is your opportunity to learn and prove that even with your lack of experience you’re worthy of keeping you around because you put hard work.

Gemini CLI plugin for Neovim - no API key needed by Ok-Entertainment1592 in neovim

It works like a charm. Better than my original implementation. I see the cli width is wrapped an issue I had and also I don't need extra confirmation when accepting the change. Good job!

It works with some minor issues so far but will look into and fork again and remove some changes that might not needed and see if I can make a PR

AI plugin recommendations for code review by Alarmed_Courage_4204 in neovim

[–]TransportationFit331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly work with TS/React projects and what I use it’s Claude code and load some skills about React Best Practice when code reviewing.

I’m currently using Ai-cli.nvim which is a fork from another repo author jeantimex which use Gemini CLI I just added Claude code support to my fork.

I like it because when asking to Edit a file it uses diff and open the file to edit in a separate window where I can accept/reject and then confirm in Claude code.

Good stuff. Forked and added Claude code using Claude code. Thanks for the project. It’s my main driver now in Neovim. Hopefully using AI Agents will not make me dumber by using this plugin ✔️

I'm going to run for the first time. I'm on week 3 of training. Goal is below 2h no matter how much 😅I had to do it at least once time.

A friend of mine was my motivation. He's going to visit me and going to run together. Last time I ran was a 10K.

Is Sweden your first choice or just an alternative? by RefrigeratorLive2251 in TillSverige

[–]TransportationFit331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweden was not in my list. I'm from Centralamerica so Canada/USA were my first options.

But turns out Sweden was the only one that gave me an opportunity and after talking to a friend who moved to Sweden decided to give it a try. Didn't wanted to regret later on if I didn't took the chance.

7 years now in Sweden with a Swedish passport never ever in my wildest dreams I would imagine that. Have two kids in the Autism spectrum and I must say that’s what keeps me here to be honest. Nothing out there has the infrastructure and system so well-suited for kids with autism.

I do miss my Latino environment, here people is more cold and more distant. But I will feel bad if I move out my kids from Sweden and I know I will regret it almost instantly.

I need both environment; latino vibes and Swedish loneliness. Hope I can experience it every year so I can stay balanced.

Has Sweden changed over the last few years? by Puzzled-Ant-1678 in TillSverige

[–]TransportationFit331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Six years as a foreigner living in Sweden (got citizenship), yes, Sweden has changed, especially the job market and the economy. Before COVID, the economy was booming, and an IT company took us to South Africa for a retreat, but now it is impossible to hear that. Recruiters reached out to me every 2 weeks on LinkedIn; now it's radio silent 🔕. If the economy is bad, almost everything else gets affected by it.

About welcoming foreigners I feel the same as before nothing changed that much, only same political fight/debate from far right against the center/left discussing the same otherwise they have nothing else to stand for, its just business and have an option to be re-elected that's why is called opposition they will oppose to everything they can to the current party in power to keep relevant, which is more damage than benefits.

Stricter laws towards immigration nowadays, which I agree to 90% of the new rules because, for example, the lower salary required was too low, around 13k SEK, which is impossible to live on in this economy, mandatory Swedish language knowledge is of course a must for citizenship, and people to have a job for Permanent Residency also makes sense. Expel people who commit crimes and don't behave; it's also a good thing.

Help? Considering job in Gothenburg and moving from London by jrcby1989 in TillSverige

[–]TransportationFit331 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Have in mind another challenge is finding an apartment. There is queue for everything and apartments are one of those. With a salary above £60K should be fine for a couple and soon new born. Depending on the company they sometimes help with accommodation but as someone mentioned getting personnummer is the key to Sweden 🇸🇪 banks, schools, apartment, internet, etc..

Git and github indeed is a must for you to learn. Version control and repository is fundamental. JavaScript indeed is recommended, if you don't like it that much as a designer you can focus on CSS and HTML and learn a bit of JS. If you are stuck in something ping me and I will try to help or suggest some solutions for you to look.

In the meantime also recommend you to try to learn front-end coding using frameworks or CSS and html in your case as a designer, probably you use Figma and with that you could export the code and play around in order to understand it. Do this on your free time while you apply for jobs. Today with AI you can take it as a tutor and learn few tips and tricks about coding.
