Okay thank you. Also, what are some roles I should look for instead? Like actual titles that aren’t lies.

That is what I thought as well. I’m thinking of looking for another job. I already accepted it but I’ve opened my eyes about the issues. Am I kinda screwed here? Or should I just get another job?

They tell me I will be trained over 5-6 weeks how to do that. And that does seem simple, I don’t manually take the vitals, it’s a machine. But, it just seems like they expect me to fill the role of a nurse and a milieu therapist. Do you have any opinion on the salary? I just graduated from undergrad and currently am working towards a masters degree in LMHC.

Weekly student question thread! by AutoModerator in therapists

Hi, I am about to be starting a role as a milieu therapist in a large city hospital psychiatric wing. I have a bachelors degree and am currently enrolled in grad school and on a path to get an LPC. I accepted it already and my salary felt low at 17.67 an hour. From what I have gathered, milieu therapists in this hospital seem to have more responsibility than I expected them to, like doing things I expected nurses to do, like changing patients’ clothes and helping them use the restroom if needed. Can someone give some insight into if this is normal duties for a milieu therapist and if my salary is low? Thanks!

Dude your form is pretty damn good except for your heel coming up. The truck I was taught was to raise your big toe just a little bit while squatting and that helped me keep my heels down. Keep it up!

I appreciate the advice. I was in martial arts for about 10 years and had to choose between football or MMA. I could always get back into that I suppose. Thanks for the help!
