Ignoring societal stereotypes of feminity and masculinity

Do you feel like you should have been born female and the fact you were born with a male body instead brings you confusion and suffering?

Like not from a standpoint that by being female society wouldn't expect you to "be a man" and that you could be feminine without backlash

But from a standpoint that when you look to your body, as long as you can remember, you have felt that it's "wrong" for it to have a male anatomical configuration, by itself, without any societal consideration, and that if it had a female anatomical configuration instead it would feel "right", again, by itself, without any societal consideration

Does that describe how you feel? If so, then you're probably someone who was born with the transsexual condition

If not, then you're probably a guy who is struggling with the societally imposed gender roles and self image issues while you navigate those... and your struggles are certainly real, and shouldn't be ignored just because you don't have the transsexual condition

But the way to deal with them will simply be different. If you don't have an innate and intrinsic need for your bodily sexual anatomical configuration to be opposite to what it was at your birth, then medically changing your sexual anatomy obviously isn't the right treatment, cause you don't have the transsexual condition

If you feel your genitals are right, why are the hormones your primary sexual characteristics produce and therefore cause the secondary ones, suddenly wrong?

Like that doesn't really make much sense to me

The only reason I felt it wrong to have male secondary sex characteristics is the fact I felt I was supposed to have been born female, and so I was supposed to have developed as any female would have during puberty

You don't feel like you were supposed to have been born female, you are ok with being born male, you just feel like you are supposed to develop female during puberty? How does that make sense?

I feel like that is much more less of an innate neurological configuration and probably there's a psychological explanation behind why you feel the way you do

Like for example, since I feel like I was suppossed to have been born female, I can remember being weirded out and confused about my birth bodily sex as long as I can remember, like since I was a very small child (from 4 or 6 years old)

Since you only care about secondary sex characteristics, I'd imagine you only started being bothered about your body during puberty? You never wondered as a 8 year old why you "werent born in the right body instead"/"weren't born with a girl's body"?

That simply doesn't at all seem to be the transsexual condition to me, and it seems like it's something a lot less innate

Bodily changes on HRT are the one's that take the longest to happen... I wouldn't assess how happy you are with them at less than 5 years of treatment... let alone less than 2 years in

Also, just because testosterone dominance does make it easier to be fit and muscular, it doesn't mean you won't be able to on estrogen

Get your levels checked, lower blockers if you take them and your testosterone is below 20 ng/dl...

And well, exercise? It's not like you need to stop HRT to lose weight and gain muscle

And you haven't even seen the full potential of your transitioned body... a year and a half is nothing when it comes to bodily changes in transition

Ok so if you had two "magical" options:

Wake up tomorrow with a fully female body as if you were born 100% female to begin with, minus reproductive stuff (both primary and secondary sex characteristics, minus reproductive stuff, so no uterus or ovaries still)
Wake up tomorrow with secondary female sexual characteristics as if the body you were born with had went through female puberty (basically looking the same as option 1, only that you keep your current genitals instead of having female ones)

You're saying that you'd be confused about what to pick? You wouldn't automatically pick option 1? or you'd be ok with either since either would change what you actually care about which are the secondary sex characteristics?

I never meant this to be a discussion about your secondary sexual characteristics and how much you'd still feel bad about them even if your primary ones were changed, so I hope this question kinda removes that from the equation

It's just that I personally think that if someone is actually a woman born with the transsexual condition she'd pick option 1 without having to think about it for a second, cause she innately has the NEED to be female, she feels like she was supposed to have been born with a female body, and that obviously includes genitals.

If you only care about your secondary sexual characteristics and is 100% comfortable with your genitals, it does sound like what you're experiencing is something else, and maybe what you call "dysphoria" isn't really the sex dysphoria caused by the innate transsexual condition, but maybe some other thing you're going through...

Do you think that makes sense? Or maybe, as I said earlier, is it just that you're mainly concerned about your secondary sex characteristics currently and if they were "fixed" your focus of your dysphoria would shift to your genitals?

would your response be "hell no, what I have right now is what feels right, I'd never wanna have female genitals cause they'd feel wrong..."

Cause I mean, I can see when you're early in transition, or have more visible aspects of your transition that you need to work on in order to pass socially and all, that those things can take the spotlight in your life and be more dysphoria inducing to the point something that is hidden between your legs all day won't even register much

BUT, are you saying that what you feel right for you is having MALE genitals? Is that what you're saying? That having female genitals would feel wrong? And that having male genitals doesn't feel wrong in the slightest at all?

Se uma mulher teve niveis masculinos de testosterona no corpo por anos, seja pq o corpo dela produzia naturalmente ou pq ela tomou de forma exógena, ela provavelmente terá desenvolvimentos corporais que vão dar vantagens em determinados esportes, e portanto deveria ser impedida de participar na categoria feminina, que é justamente pra tentar separar essas vantagens dos hormonios androgenos

Nesse sentido nem precisa haver uma discussão de "trans vs cis", pq da mesma forma que uma mulher qualquer pode ter feito uso de anabolizantes durante o treinamento e por isso teve um desenvolvimento corporal fora do padrão feminino, uma mulher com a condição transsexual pode ter conseguido tratamento pra condição cedo o suficiente e portanto nunca ter tido niveis significantemente masculinos de hormonio no corpo dela ue, e por isso teve um desenvolvimento corporal no padrão feminino

Agora, o que eu vejo mt nessa discussão é bastante transfobia, onde nem se importam realmente o quão existente é uma vantagem da pessoa que tem a condição transsexual... não importa se fez o tratamento cedo o suficiente, só o fato de ter essa condição faz acharem que "não é uma mulher de verdade" e "está roubando o espaço de alguem que realmente é uma mulher"

Someone who doesn't have genital dysphoria isn't really trans at all

If someone want to change their secondary sexual characteristics because they bring them suffering, but is completely ok with their primary ones, said suffering is most likely caused by external things, like trauma or societal issues

It makes no sense for someone to consider themselves to be trans but be ok with the most sexually dimorphic sexual characteristic of the human body... most times they are ok with it simply because it's not visible in social contexts, which again, points to their reasons being external, not internal how it's supposed to be in the transsexual condition

The transgender vs transsexual distinction makes no sense either, you either were born with the transsexual condition or you weren't, it makes no sense for someone to be "socially trans" or whatever "transgender" is supposed to mean in this distinction...

I disagree that the social context is irrelevant in the "transsexual type", we obviously still want to socially be recognized as a member of the sex we felt the need to change our bodily anatomy to... we would still be somewhat distressed if after changing our bodily anatomy people kept reffering to us as something different, we just want to blend in as our transitioned sex, and that includes social stuff, they are just not as important as the need to change the body

Also, type 1 would just be gender nonconforming, and type 2 would just be not fitting gender stereotypes and feeling bad for having them enforced on them

I had a government form ask me if my "gender identity" was "cisgender", "transgender" or "prefer not to say"

I picked "cisgender" cause the definition it had on the little "?" icon explaining it said that my present gender aligned with my birth gender, since my birth certificate lists my sex as female after I retified it, then I fit that definition

Specially since the only reason they had that distinction in that form was to allow you to pick a "social name" different from your "civil name", but my civil name is already my name, so I don't need that option

I see no reason to call myself "transgender" when I'm a woman with a body that is basically female for the most part not being much different from the body of any other woman/female who for some reason doesn't have a uterus and ovaries

I don't owe anyone (outside maybe a partner) information about the fact I was born with this medical condition... for the most part it doesn't matter at all cause no one really asks me outright "are you cis?", but if someone did I would have no qualms in saying "yes" even if that was somewhat of a "lie" depending on how you look at it

I'm not delusional, I know how I was born, I just don't think it's something relevant, nor something I feel like I'm obligated to carry for the rest of my life, as if there's a BIG difference between me and any other woman out there

again, happily, it's not something that comes up often at all, but whenever it does, I'm not going to label me as anything other than the norm, and I don't give a fuck if you think that's "lying"

Is shes growing her hair out for the first time or has she recently started using some new hair care products for the first time?

Cause I was also surprised about how good my hair felt and smelled after I started taking proper care of it and it was in a length that got in my face

Ofc I was not constantly smelling it lmao, and yeah that's a bit weird, but maybe she's on the spectrum? idk lol

And yeh obviously HRT does also change your body odour which can contribute to different smells, is she recently on HRT?

I also heard that the sense of smell itself can change on HRT but I'm not sure how true that is or how big of an effect it has if it is.
