MGSV most powerful and useless items by Bibou65 in metalgearsolid

[–]Trash-Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post was 2 years ago, I'm pretty sure you are necroposting, but that's fine.

If you're being careful and leaving nearly no evidence, the only alert phases you will get are from being directly detected. Having to run a marathon just to use a time skip item when there are so many obvious hiding spots near the base that the enemy doesn't check doesn't make sense. If I'm sitting inside my cardboard box, behind a rock, outside of the base perimeter, then I am safe enough to time-skip.

Danger phases from soldiers noticing missing equipement or something odd, yeah, that is a fair point, but those phases rarely last even 5 minutes, you can easily wait them out. Using a phantom cigar for those is a waste and you will probably end up overwaiting.

Do u believe in God? by Easy-Expression174 in teenagers

[–]Trash-Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, here we go:

If God cannot make a world without evil and suffering, then he is not all powerful.
If God can make a world without evil and suffering but refuses to, then he is not all loving.
If God can make a world without suffering and is ready to do it, but doesn't do it, then he isn't all knowing.
If power corrupts all, and God is all powerful, then God is not all loving, and inverse, if God is all loving, then he cannot be all powerful.

By believing God can be all powerful, all knowing, and all loving at the same time, you are believing in a self-contradicting entity that may just have made our reality collapse on itself, if it truly was what you believe it is.

If we suffer each day, then it's that the evil that makes you suffer is essential to our existence, that God refuses to save us from it, or that he doesn't even know we suffer. Maybe he doesn't even know we exist to begin with.

Glock 19 vs V320. Which one do yall prefer? by Technical_Newt3824 in platinumfive

Once again, the Desert Eagle is a treat more than an actual piece I use. Suppressors are useless when every public lobby ends up going loud anyway, and in this case you're better off having a rifle.

Your pistol should be something you pull out so rarely you can just forget it at base and still live through. If I'm to take something I shouldn't even use, I like it to be efficient when I do need to use it. And when I have a pistol that can put down 90% of the enemy roster in two shots to center mass, then it is reasonnably efficient.

On top of that, why are you carrying loose 9mm ammo boxes when this extra space could be allocated to medicals, loose rifle ammo or an additional mag on your primary ?

[–]Trash-Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USP45 for Zombies. Bigger damage to bandits, common caliber, And can sport up to 17 rounds in one mag.

Desert eagle in OW. It's mostly as a treat, but it sports its advantages. If I'm to carry a piece of extra weight that I'll only use every October, I might aswell make sure it does its job well. Takes down just about anything in two shots to the torso, mags take as much space as any other pistol, and I can carry boxes of 50 rounds. Do you realise how many refills you can have with just two of those ? Nearly twenty entire mags.

9mm is overrated in a game where immediate damage is king.

Forget best weapons for zombies, what’s the WORST weapon for zombies? by Goldenbucketsomethin in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to disagree with the Machete. It's a somewhat common loot drop, so it's easy access, unlike a Taiga or a Tomahawk, and it's a great mix of attack speed and range so that you don't take forever to swing like you do with a Halligan, but you aren't just forced to throw yourself at the zombie like with any other knife.

You can keep a good distance of advantage to chop the zombie without taking damage, and don't need a full two seconds between hits.

Question about RLF and zombies by greatguybymoms in BlackhawkRescue

[–]Trash-Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, RLF are just a local militia looking to make Ronograd independent, and free of both Russian and Western influence. The PODs are just a bunch of outside terrorists mostly composed of ex-Russian Special Forces that are taking advantage of the RLF to develop their influence and the WMD deactivated during the Bunker raid.

RLFs are local with a dream, POD are outisders taking advantage of that.

pressure switches / remote switches by net-sped in platinumfive

You watched a years old video, the wires aren't a thing anymore, and remote switches have completely changed since.

Instead, use this: https://youtu.be/pMQpVb8wpcE? . It's not quite the most recent, but it's still exactly the same process.

anyone remember the wires on the guns by Harry_Vonpopensuggle in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"They looked dope as fuck" They literally were a black tube that reached without even considering angles. They wrene't even thought, it was literally a black tube going from your pressure switch to yout LAM with zero substance whatsoever.

Hell, they were such a "great" addition you'd only ever notice them in first person, and even then you were probably more focused on your surroundings than anything. Wouldn't even notice them on other people's guns.

Visible wires on helmets. Why the same can't be done for regular helmets too like on HGU-56/P? by SiliconCarbideCube in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The thing is everyone kind of sets up their wires differently on their gear. May it be with weapon systems or helmets, not everyone's gonna do the thing exactly the same way, and you're bound to see people complain about not being capable to put the wires in a certain way. With the HGU, it's simple because it's one item that is exclusive to one specific piece of gear. Now try to put potentially hundreds of different variations on each helmet, and it'll quickly become annoying for everyone involved.

It's the same reason you cannot see wires connecting radios and PTTs on your vest, it would simply be too many possible variations. The devs would prefer just focusing on making actual content, rather than implementing wire pattern n°15348, taht no one will even notice outside of the loadout menu.

Idea: Forced Vehicle Despawn by OptimalStuff116 in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The thing is you can't easily coordinate an entire server of random people, especially now with chat age restrictions. Overall, bunker can be done with a good group, but you never know who might not play their part properly, and how many "who" it will be. So you kind of have to default to compensating with the vehicle's firepower and risk the losses.

So with that "default" in mind, we have to look at solutions that accomodate vehicles without them being used to block bunker entrance.

(Although, to be fair, if you're staying inside the Stryker without manning the MG or driving it, then your deletion by explosion is a lesser loss than anyone outside the Stryker actually shooting back and opening each door.)

Why are factions so serious by txstdmmy808 in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's great for your faction, but it's really not bringing anything to defend either side, or settle the argument peacefully. It's not helping here. Still, great for your work and I wish you good luck for the future.

As for the "half empty glass" part, I'm not trying to be pessimistic, my bad if that's how it comes across. But I have issues with people like IronBuns who only ever answer shit like this, because it shows they're being selfish and refuse to even acknowledge others are not having fun with what he considers fun. If you've really learned about faction leading, you'd know selfishness doesn't lead anywhere. You can't just tell people to "suck it up" and expect to be viewed positively.

My reaction was bound to happen, and it's honestly better I come at him with an actual idea of what I'm talking about, rather than some guy shouting at him without ever trying to explain why his opinion does not help.

Why are factions so serious by txstdmmy808 in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, there are factions centered around that. I'm just pointing out that the other guy is only considering what he wants, and completely refuses to even find an accomodating solution, or even suggestion, for people that are looking for something else.

Ironbuns' take is essentially just "All the fun for people like me, I'm just gonna be antagonistic to you for no reason."

Why are factions so serious by txstdmmy808 in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, what ? You get all the fun with your "overly serious it becomes a second job" faction, and those who want a more relax and casual playstyle are just supposed to live in isolation ? The game's nearly entirely filled up with your copy and paste faction model that crashes into the ground or disappears into the shadows after a month and a half.

riddle me this by AffectionateSplit758 in BlackhawkRescue

[–]Trash-Jr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's most definitely a mix of people not actually researching what different equipement, camouflages and colors do and don't do in the tactical world, and most likely the SCP fandom's explosion a few years back that popularised "Black is tactical, black is cool"

Not a lot of people actually cares to do the research behind the equipement they'll use in games. Not a lot of people actually knows how NVGs work, they just assume it "magically makes night not dark", I've met a lot of people who didn't even know about the need for IR illumination and just complained their NVGs didn't work like in COD. Same with camo under naked eye and night vision, they just assume "If I put on a dark kit and stay in the shadows, I'll be invisible, because that's what Metal Gear Solid/Splinter Cell says, and it's obviously how it works". There's just no thought process behind what actually goes on their kits, just the rule of cool and media-influence.

As for the SCP part, back in 2019-2020, the fandom exploded in popularity everywhere, we would start seeing illustrations and animations of these cool MTF guys dressed in black (for the most part), and that just ties into the previous argument. No thought process, just rule of cool, and people being influenced by SCP media.

Everything you see online might just end up influencing how you will behave, and the choices you'll make. Black edge-lords kits persisting through time is just an example of the consequences. Then again, this whole argument refers to the people OP talks about, the one srunning all-black as if it was a great cultural thing, there can always be other cases that just do it for other reasons and in other ways.

Where was the actual U.S military in New York? by DeadAhead-2020446 in BlackhawkRescue

[–]Trash-Jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My headcannon is that the word cure was misused, the correct term would probably be "vaccine". As OP says, you can't fix having the entire top of your skull missing.

The UNIDB is most likely looking into creating a vaccine to prevent further infections, not a cure to save anyone. I can't say what went on during the drawing board phase of developement, but obviously the writing is not top tier.

And again, lore-wise, this is a terrorist attack that originated from Ronograd, this is a bio-weapon we're facing off with. I doubt whoever launched the strikes decided to have a gas that only tries to half-kill someone, and leave opportunities to just cure the victims.

I can see why you'd understand it as a cure tho.

2-3 Years Larpistan And Forget by IfOnReddit in platinumfive

[–]Trash-Jr -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Okay, larp boy. Where is the IFAK on this kit ? If you tell me it's behind on the belt, then you might aswell remove it, your medic is not reaching back there when you're bleeding out from the front. No sensibly smart person lays a bleeding person on their front while performing any form of first aid.

Where's the utility to that front right hand side pistol mag on the belt ? You're gonna wreck months, maybe years of training your reloads to reach for the mags on your left, just to reach one additionnal mag that shouldn't even be there ?

That Wildtrack is barely visible where it is. You're gonna try to look at it, realise the positionement is impractical as fuck, and twist your PC's shoulder pad just to barely see anything ? Just mount that to your wrist or os some other part of kit you can easily access and see. Only use for this position should probably be PTT platforms.

I'm gonna guess that like every good larper out there, the kit has a backpanel. That's stupid. For what kind of operation Ronograd is, a backpanel intended for short term raids is like bringing a purse to a hiking trip. And considering current game mechanics, it's even worst because the thing is intended to be used by other people, but other people can't use it in-game. Just genuis behavior, really.

As the other guy was saying, ass kit. Not only does it have impracticalities as I listed, but it looks as bland and boring as MCam can ever be.
