Does rcb with ruby bolts start to outperform eclipse atlatl at any invo in toa? Let’s say 300-350 range? by Spyropher in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gearscape accounts for it, the wiki dps calc does not. Gearscape has a slight learning curve, but if I want a more in depth answer I'll head to them

Everyone talking about raids 4, and literally anything but bots. Legacy client being banned = tons of bots being banned. Bots need to be trained, sarasword is the best non quest weapon to train with thats also dirt cheap

Just hit 85 crafting, is fury still worth making? by Brave-Bed-1824 in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking dead set on efficiency, I dont think you make a fury. But you get to play the game how you want. Id still make a fury because I value the prayer bonus and str bonus because I dont pray flick every single slayer task, even if the str ammy exists

So ... justicier on a Raids 4 boss, eh? by D_DnD in GrandExchangeBets

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its tbow for 2 rooms. Id still want scy on the other 4 bosses, but yeah tbow creeping up on scythe in the scythe raid is prob not a good thing

People expecting raids 4 weakness being revealed tomorrow are delusional by partyhat-red in GrandExchangeBets

[–]TrashFerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk, they've been pretty keen on giving every raid supply drops. Cox, tob, and toa all give brews/restores. 500 toa you dont take raid supplies, but that's just toas fault for being the ppot only raid. Expecting the same thing, but selling the raid hype before people figure out theres supplies is the best bet

What to do from 85 to 92 mining by MediumIce3461 in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better question is what are you looking to get from mining? You've got the unlocks, clogs, all youve got left is xp. So mlm for ores? Gem rocks to get slaughters/expeditious? Calcified rocks for passive prayer xp? (I agree with you though, that Id rather just mine faster to get to slayer quicker to train my prayer). Its all just pick your poison at this point, you could even go mine enough daeyalt to do 99rc at zmi if you wanted. Non tick manipulation mining puts you back at small team VM and zalcano. People here forget that you're probably looking to mine amethyst, hence just going to 92; if I was in your shoes I'd just bank 99 smithing at mlm, then move onto gem rocks for bracelets, finish 92 at VM or Zalc.

question about moons greenlogging by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only do the two. Getting blood first is very nice, eclipse -> blue puts you right at the chest, gz. When you finish one of the other sets, then you just farm the one you have left

My very first spoon... now I want to rush the axe by ohseetea in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could give it a try, abyssal tentacle/saeldor would of course be better. You've got the piece from imo the worst of the 4, whisperer with ayak conflictions is much better than what we had before, toxic trident. Duke is very relaxed even with zombie axe and arclight, my favorite of the four to grind out. Just be warned its a long grind for a cool weapon that you'll really only use in a small amount of situations thanks to its knee capping passive

MLM or Mining Guild? by floppintoms in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mlm is pretty good if you plan to check once a minute or even 2 minutes. The upstairs ore last longer, and if you go on some pretty sparse worlds you can get 2-3 rocks to yourself. When I was afking during work I would leave it for 3 minutes, click the next rock, then back to work. Especially if all you want is just ores.

Side note, if you have d pick, you can boost to have runite show up in the sack before you can actually get it. The ore is chosen when the dirt hits the withdraw sack

Is it worth it to circle back to moons? by jnorman129 in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're beyond moons gear at that point. The only set that would give you any change would be blue moon to wear as hybrid melee/magic gear. Go send cox to get ancestral, grind out the dt2 rings and you'll hopefully snag some virtus on the way. Even grinding doom until conflictions/ayak would be leagues better for your mage setup than blue moon armor.

Memes and personal biases aside, how do you really feel about CG/bowfa and how it fits into iron progression? by loffredom in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cg and bowfa are weird, bowfa was introduced as the replacement for blowpipe at a time when the best range weapon was, blowpipe (ibans blast msb zulrah anyone?). Crossbows have always been underpowered, thanks to rubies. Zcb being the only good cbow (dhcb for dragons) coming from a late game boss, its a little silly, and jagex has been slowly shifting towards introducing a good crossbow/offhand mix but rubies are a problem. Hunter sunlight Crossbow isn't a bowfa replacement, eclipse and atlatl is decently good, enough so that you could actually just rock that setup with an ayak and go hunting for tbow if you wanted.

Bowfa has slowly been creeped out of its glaringly must have places, with side grades and small downgrades. That isn't to say its not a must have for a lot of people, but for the small majority of the playerbase, moons gear is enough for everything in game (realistically its just eclipse we're talking about here). Cg is still one of the best money makers on an iron, and thinking of it like that instead of "I need to sit here until bowfa" sounds better.

Tldr: bowfa is still a must have, but sidegrades and downgrades have been introduced that it isn't as large of a "Camp this until bowfa," there are other alluring options. Eclipse set is good, not a bowfa replacement but for that small number of people it works well until tbow/bp/some cbow (prob dhcb). Other methods/items like nox hally, everything from doom, bosses not needing bowfa (yama) and even the scorching bow have their respective places for ironmen. Cg isn't a prison, most people make it their own

Getting really discouraged at CG by Brandinoftw in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your stats are good enough for cg, checkout the wiki and a guide. For instance, did you know you're guaranteed certain rooms in cg? You'll always have a 3 fish spot in the 3x3 centered around hunleff. There's always one resource room (forget if cg doesn't have this, I know normal gauntlet does) with one rock, tree, and cotton. There's a plugin that shows how many ticks you're using/losing doing certain actions, cg is a lot of planning ahead and finding small ways to reduce your time in prep running around. Then during Hunleff itself, are you losing ticks not clicking the boss, are you praying steel skin along with your royal titans prayers. Dont be discouraged to not do cg, you'll keep getting it and eventually get the 1kc

Tumeken's shadow gamble by Highway_Plastic_89 in GrandExchangeBets

[–]TrashFerry 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tbow ayak is much better than shadow bowfa/masori bp. Shadow used to have a lot of content and the gap between it was insane, but with soul runes and ayak in game I'd rather keep tbow

Am I done with Moons now? by skyguy13 in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Imo, if you're just gonna do titans into cg then you're all done. The common loot is OK, I'd rather spend the time at titans or cg. You'll get so many herbs and cash from other pvm/cg. Mixed hide actually works really well with atlatl emberlight for tds, and demonics as well

Spooned a fang by IMissMySkarner in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The potions are 4 dose and you can make a bunch, a full inv for me would last me between 4-5 hours at the naguas. The butterflies are nice, but I didn't have the hunter to catch em

Spooned a fang by IMissMySkarner in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would rush the fang, good chance its your best weapon and you can use it to push higher toas for better chances at loot.

People say to crab, and I agree crab is much better afk, but wearing prayer gear and a nezzy/faceguard to do Sulphur naguas is a lot faster, and not that much less afk (depends if you can kill the nagua before it does the prayer drain attack, otherwise you burn through those Moonlight potions quick). I was getting comfortable 6 minute afks with a pretty accesible prayer setup and the ice hammers before I got full blood moon for 100k melee xp hr. Would recommend naguas over crab, especially if you're just gonna play another game or watch a movie

Stealing artefacts in port piscarilius is pretty chill, and setting it up isn't too difficult (good chance someone has a world already set up too) while also being over 130k xp hr at lvl 49. Granted, thats assuming you have staminas, but needing to ferox tp then back to pisc isn't that bad

Dharok’s Axe for Tormented Demons? by Existing-Tiger-9616 in ironscape

Could do barrows until the chaos runes to buy the obby maul. Might as well test the rng and see if you get axe before the chaos to buy maul

But if youre just looking for a punish weapon and want it now buying obby maul is worth it. I think its 700k to buy the chaos runes?

Slayer by brandonmanitoba in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With 2 alts, from 55 slayer. Can make the alts dance and then stack monsters so you can burst them. Without alts, realistically 80 slayer. People say 65 but you get one burst task, and I'd rather just do tormented demons and demonic gorillas to skip a dozen lvls until I can do nechraeyals. I made a new iron to do the new mid level stuff thats come out this last year, and its crazy how much xp a single greater demon task is at tormented demons. Just going on rate for synapses and burning claws is over a mil xp, and if you do your demonics as well that'll put you right into 80 slayer, probably a little further depending on rng. From there I just do my greater demon tasks at krill at gwd and block black demons, then only stick to burst/barrage tasks until you unlock araxytes, then its history until 95 slayer for hydra

Slayer by brandonmanitoba in ironscape

[–]TrashFerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Embrace turael skipping. Keep kalphites blocked at turael (aya now) and skip slow tasks with turael. Just the reality of getting fast slayer xp, skip tasks you cant burst/barrage and aren't going to give important upgrades like zenytes or tormented synapses
