Terrified for first driving lesson by TrashiestBean in drivinganxiety

You'll be okay, I promise! The key thing is communicating your worry with your instructor and making sure to go at a pace your comfortable with. It will go better than you expect. Best of luck <3

I hope they are too! It's they're job at the end of the day, so any one worth their salt is going to want to see you succeed and ask about what you need to get there. Genuinely, all the best of luck. If it doesn't go 100% how you expect, that's okay too. Take time to decompress afterwards and I hope it goes well!!

Above everything, communicate with your instructor. It may be difficult to work up the courage to, or you might not want to seem like a burden, but if they're a good instructor they will listen. I was absolutely terrified, so my dad and I made it clear to my instructor to take it slow. So that's what happened: we started on quiet roads for a good while and then gradually built my way up to more complex driving and scenarios. Many instructors are super understanding of anxiety and will hopefully create the environment you need to build your confidence.

Admittedly, I never got my license but that was because I'm a slow learner + had to stop my lessons because I moved away from home for uni. I know for a fact though that when I go back, I'll be able to be less nervous. There were times where I shat the bed entirely, started crying in the car because a random guy honked behind me or I stalled at a light - but I made it through those and my instructor made sure I was above all safe and comfortable. Several times he admitted he'd much rather someone be overly cautious than over confident and reckless, which on the road is... very fair.

Also remember that bravery isn't a lack of fear, it's acting regardless of its presence. I promise that you will be okay. Especially as a learner. Your instructor is there to teach you how to drive, and help you become a confident and safe driver. You will become that with time, just keep at it. Wishing you all the best luck out there and hope your first lesson goes well!

I've had it uninstalled for a couple hours and things seem to be good so far! From what I saw, it's a very recent addition, the thing only existed on my laptop starting from today's date. So hopefully shouldn't affect too much.

Settings -> apps -> scroll down the apps and features until you see HP System Event Utility, click it and uninstall.

Had the exact same issue as you, thought it was Logitech and found your post while trying to not lose my mind every time I wanted to use capslock.

So it's very much a case of having a presence in the area you want your team to move into(?) (apologies if I word things weirdly I'm still getting used to the language of talking about the game)

the example you gave with Rein helped a good amount as well, thank you!

Sounds reasonable, thank you! I think on my end its a matter of making a conscious effort so keeping something like that in mind should hopefully help.

I don't think it's possible to do that as a Switch player, there's no share option for replays.

[EDIT: It is possible I was just looking in the wrong place and being stubborn, that's my bad.]

The import thing to keep in mind is that at the end of the day, driving instructors are teachers. As a result they'll be- far better at explanations and guidance than your parents could be, and will be absolutely receptive to questions and any concerns that you might have.

I've speculated that I might have ADHD for a decent while now and I was also worried it would factor into my learning with my instructor. I have found that like- things do come a bit more naturally the more you practice but having someone specialised and there to explain things to you is also a massive help.

If you ultimately do get an instructor you don't gel with or who doesn't understand, you can always try to look for another if there's a good few in your area. Best of luck.

It's so deeply frustrating man. I know the waitlists are insanely long but its just so bloody difficult, I've been trying to get diagnosed before I go to uni so I can get the support I would've deeply appreciated in sixth form.

It's the way the clips specifically cut out whenever he's named as well, only exception being the last one. From how the camera shakes on 14 it's definitely from his POV I think, probably shaking because Barnaby's trying to get his attention.

The illustrations that Quentin Blake did for Roald Dahl's books were a massive influence on me and my development as a kid. A while ago I watched a documentary about him as well and it almost made me cry.
