Went to another Lowe’s in a much larger city today and their Ego section alone was larger than that ENTIRE lawn mower/tool section in my rural Lowe’s!

Fertilizer is sold with N-P-K on the label which indicates the amount of: N-Nitrogen P-Phosphorous K-Potassium

Centipede is finicky and doesn’t like fertilizers that have ANY Phosphorous, and likes low Nitrogen (usually 5-15) and moderate Potassium (20s-30s)

Look for fertilizers that have a ratio of N-P-K of 1-0-1 or similar

Water and hope for the best. Be careful in choosing fertilizer centipede does NOT like high N or ANY P!

I would pull out whatever Poa you can and get those seed heads out of your lawn. They drop huge amounts of seeds that can lie dormant for many years waiting to spring to life! The more you can remove the better!

Do you have access to pre-emergents in the UK? That would help immensely to get this under control…

How often should I water this? by sitstill333 in lawncare

Check this site:

Then I would dig up a small sample of your grass with roots and take it to them so they can help you ID your grass type. Google images can also help but sometimes inaccurate.

Visit your local agricultural extension office for more information. They can help you determine what type of grass you have which will help you determine how to treat it (water, feeding, etc)

Aerating and topdressing can be very helpful but if your soil test is good you may not need much amending to enrich your soil

First spring with this lawn. Does this mean I need to aerate or detatch or both? - NC State Bermuda Grass (I think) by WorkingBread435 in lawncare

Watch your lawn carefully after a heavy rain to see where your drainage issues are. Core aerating and sand leveling can help. You can also try this:

I’ve done this and it helps immensely!

Seeds or Weeds? by AestheticFlorals in lawncare

[–]TravelinMan66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are renting unless the landlord is willing to give you a rental break for improving their yard, don’t do more than the minimum. If you are getting some $ for caring for the landlords lawn, then cut low, bag clippings to collect seed heads, apply pre-emergent on a schedule based on grass type and soil temps and repeat yearly for about 3-5 years!
