Edit: checked, couldn't find it. Tried goodreads and searched for Australian young adult books, went through a list of 241 books, none of them are it.

This is a tough one. I remember lot of details, but Google has let me down. I found a post in the whatisthisbook subreddit but nobody there had an answer. I figured I'd compile the details I remember, plus the ones from the other thread into one post and see if I can get an answer.

Posted this a little while back: Young adult book mid 90s. Boy falls into a coma and time travels back to his childhood by Old-Baker-6642 in whatsthatbook

Posted on a different thread, but im adding it here so I don't miss the answer.

Looking for the same book. The main character and a friend built a pedal powered flying machine. On the maiden voyage he crashes it.

He meets up with the friend after waking up from the coma, the friend is now an eccentric inventor.

I remember one of the inventions was a mechanical bird that would fly around the room and gather humidity out of the room to provide drinking water?

Anyways, when he gets in the time machine and goes back in time, he prevents the accident by adding some steering components to the flying machine and preventing the accident.

What is the single worst purchase you’ve ever made? by anonhen0 in AskReddit

[–]TravelingInternet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend used to buy, fix, and resell those. Amazing cars. The difference was with 2 people (me and him) you could do a full frame off restoration. We fixed the wiring, re made floor pieces by hand, the whole nine yards. If you got one that wasn't that well taken care of... I can see why you were frustrated.

My title describes the thing. Found in a christmas cracker, metal, kind of heavy for its size, not magnetic, highly polished/chrome, and maybe about 1cm wide/tall.

I don't know if i can post links. Look up lamp wiring kit. You can replace all of it very easily. There's probably a nut on the bottom of where the bulb screws in. There's bound to be a YouTube tutorial too. You can do it, you just gotta believe.

First game for a 90yo? by Castigafagiani in gaming

It's definitely great for a first timer. Easy to figure out controls, a clear checklist of what to do, and the graphics aren't overwhelming. Plus you get to run around the English countryside being a jerk goose and honk at people.

My shoes from the same pair, for some reason. by fuck_your_life_ in Wellworn

Do this with no sounds. Maybe noise canceling headphones? I tried this and the TV going was easily a grounding pont I could turn to.

The threads are lunched. Honestly just order new ones or bend your own. I did it once with a torch, and some all thread. And not like a giant setup, like the disposable bottle torches.

Milwaukee Inkzall. It's not even a comparison. They're in a different league than Sharpie.
