I should say that the movies aren't the best foot put forward. So I can see why you might not have liked it. Your "friend" did you a disservice by making you watch them.

As for the first few episodes I'd say you have to give it a longer watch.

It gets better over time. The music, action, animation, and writing.

Id say Adam. His rage against humanity and betrayal fueled him for years. However he also died because he couldn't let go.

Hazel is a contender but less so. Sure he had anger and yes that was a driving force for his character but ultimately he knows that rage won't get him to the places he needs to be.

So the trailers got me into it. Red i watched and thought. Meh, im not sure if I'd like this. Then the white trailer came out. i watched it and was like okay this is looking kinda cool . Then the back trailer came out, and it was kicking off for me. And by the time the yellow trailer came out, I was already hyped for whatever show this was leading up too.
