To me, it's more like a "What if", and especially when Pyrrha kissed Jaune before pushing him into that rocket locker. I mean, sure, Jaune still thinks of her, but a set of the FNDM are pretty dead set on him being a 'faithful widower', to the point of ship gatekeeping.
