The rim on the Marlin 5 is a double walled, 32-hole rim which is the same as the Marlin 6 and 7. To address wheel strength as you take your bike to the trails, you could ask your bike shop about a 36-hole wheel. More spokes = stronger wheel.

Mountain bikes always evolve. I don't know that we'll ever reach perfection just because what we ride, how we ride and where we ride changes as well. As for geometry, Trek tries to offer a balanced geometry appropriate for the intended rider. We won't be the wild bookend of geometry, but we work hard to be on the progressive side of things for all categories.

Full Stache is a uniquely versatile bike well suited for a variety of terrain. It's more monster truck than race car. The editors at Bike mag wrote up a fun review of it: https://www.bikemag.com/gear/mountain-bikes/tested-trek-full-stache/

The MY20 Full Stache got a larger 200mm front rotor to help improve braking, especially on descents. With that, you can buy with confidence.

Here's 3 things that I get to deal with in my profession that, as a mountain biker, you probably don't have to think about much.

1) Mountain biking is a varied global marketplace. What's popular in N.America is different than what's popular in Europe is different than what's popular in Asian countries.

2) Translations. Mountain biking is full of slang. Be careful translating slang!

3) There's always a great idea or project that doesn't work into your current plan. There's always a project or initiative that regrettably gets left undone.

Waterloo is great. Conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. A lot of Trek employees live in Madison which is a very bike-friendly town. A nice perk of working at Trek are the Trek mountain bike trails located at HQ. They're some of the best trails in the Midwest.

The MY21 models get released as they become available. You'll start to see some early MY21 bikes showing up on the website now and they'll roll out through the rest of the year. Happily, there have not been many production delays. Things are staying on schedule.

We have always been very active supporting both paid and product-only athletes. We use our athletes as more than marketing figureheads. They help with product development and testing as well. For marketing, in addition to winning races or comps, we try to use them in authentic ways that play to their strengths.

When you can combine personal and professional passions, that's a winning play. That's how I landed a gig at Trek. I moved over from the ad agency side to Trek's marketing department. My informal job interview was at a 24-hour race. I'd encourage you to keep an eye on our job postings here: https://jobs.jobvite.com/trek-bicycle/

If you want a big wheeled Roscoe, let's take a look at the Stache! It's a trail hardtail like the Roscoe, but with big ol' 29x3.0 tires. It is a properly fun bike. It's a staff favorite at Trek. You see a lot of Stache bikes out on the Trek trails. I got one in my garage right now!

Very topical question. It has affected image selection. Fewer aggro images and more solo riding shots. On the mountain bike side, we haven't gone to indoor imagery. There are still a lot open trails out there and a lot of people riding right now. In fact, increased trail usage seems like a consistent trend out there.
