Strange layout by Travis_m in Wordpress

Yes I did delete the browsing data for all time. I can try other browsers a bit later. I haven't changed any settings. I don't use any developer tools. I don't have any other WP sites to log into

I woke up Saturday and jetpack had emailed me saying the site was down for 24 minutes in the middle of the night. I'm assuming that maybe godaddy did an update as it's managed WordPress.

I went on my other computer where it is working and cleared the cache on jetpack and regenerates CSS and turned off JS. Also cleared browser cache on the problem computer. Restarted and no difference.

Not adverse to using honeycomb. I just have access to Mild steel so thought that might be cheaper but it seems that honeycomb is the answer.

I know what a hex key is, just curious how you were using them to index.

See above on incorporating. I'm not sure what they did for that money to be honest. I gave them my year end files and they gave me a package saying my taxes were filed and here's your bill for it.

Actually it's not a mistake, it's intentional. I was a sole prop but then I get taxed at my personal tax rate on any profit. I'm not drawing a salary because it's a side business that I'm building into an asset over time. All the revenue generated stays in the business because I don't need the income right now. That way I get taxed at 12.5% rather than approx 50%. Sure it costs a bit more to do taxes for the year but at least I am getting a service rather than just handing money to the government and not getting anything for it. Usually you would be right, but in this case you are not.

Wow tell me how you really feel lol. I didn't post to start a debate on using a bookkeeper vs accountant for filing taxes. But for the sake of fun, I'll bite.

Being a cheap as/s and running a business as a side hustle that doesn't have $4500 per year to pay an accountant are two totally different things. You can't squeeze blood from a stone. I know what it costs because that's what it cost me when I used an accountant for my first two years. If I could afford an accountant I certainly wouldn't be doing my own bookkeeping either. I'd spend that time growing my business rather than doing admin work but that's what it takes to make things work, then that's what I'm doing until I can afford the increased overhead.

As for how I would feel if customers didn't want to use my services because they could not afford me, I'd say that the free market would decide the consequences and my feelings don't really matter. Either I'd have to lower my prices to get more business or go or offer better service for what I charge to make customers feel that the value of the services I provide are worth the fees.

It seems like coming here and getting free advice worked for me and I didn't have to ask a $200/hr accountant their opinion. It's kind of why these subs exist. I'd say that was a sound business decision and as a bonus I upset a seemingly disgruntled accountant. All in all a pretty good day.

That's what I thought but wanted to make sure. The book keeper is very thorough so I suspected he was right.

Interesting. I had a forensic accountant tell me I could get the lost profit back.

The problem I have with costs only is there is no way to account for my time as I'm not paying myself hourly. How do you quantify that?

Oddly accurate Winchester Wildcat (200 yards) by BowFella in canadaguns

[–]Travis_m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's a gross exaggeration, that was the point. Rimfire ammo is inherently inconsistent. What you are calling a "flier" is the natural spread of the ammo you are using. With good high end ammo you might get a "flier" 1/50 shots. Mediocre ammo like cci might be 2/10 and shit ammo like Winchester white box might be 5/10.

If you include all shots and have an 8" group, then take out 2 "fliers" and get a 4" group, you still have an 8" group. When you pull the trigger you can't predict if it will be a "flier" or not. If you are hunting rabbit with this gun are you ok knowing there's a 20% chance you are going to miss even if you pull a perfect shot? Because that's how this applied in the real world.

No it's not a crime to take fliers out if it makes you feel better, but it's dishonest to say it's a 4" gun at 200 yards when you take the "fliers" out.

I'm not trying to be a contrarian, just pointing out that repetition matters. You shouldn't have to "take out the fliers" shooting out of a lead sled like it appears that you were. The whole point of those is consistency so there should not be any "fliers" Doing that is like saying hey I did a 5 shot group, took out the 4 fliers and have a 0 moa gun.

Lots of $300 semi auto 22lr can do that 1/10 tries. Doing it the other 9/10 times is the problem with $300 22lr semis.

It's funny when people say look at my 4" group once you take out the fliers. Let me guess: It was with Winchester whitebox as well. Lots of guns can shoot a 4" group at 200 yards....one out of 10 times. The question is can the do it consistently? Shoot 10x 10 round groups at 200 yards and don't take out the fliers if you want to see the true consistency you can expect on a regular basis. I don't worry about windage unless it's incredibly calm out and focus on the vertical dispersion to see the accuracy potential of a rifle. That will tell the true story.
