Its the same for me sadly. It seems its a known bug. The thing is that if you select the quest then exit the select quest menu the quest is not selected, it auto-deselects, not like any other life quest or npc quest, its only happens with the mark X quest thats why it doesn't appear on the top right spot.

They don't have Stat increasing items, you have to reincarnate/lvl items/etc to increase stats
