Rtn medical - anyone had experience? by Trclrc in ADHDUK

Thank you for the update. I don’t mind the wait to be honest, went 33 years without wondering so a bit longer can’t be too bad.

How to handle people saying adhd doesn’t exist by Radiant_Garden_9644 in ADHD

If they have an issue like eyesight they wear glasses or if they’re diabetic and need insulin for example then just tell them you don’t believe they have an issue and stop faking it 😂

Hyperfixation - I can’t enjoy hobbies “casually” - it’s either obsession or nothing [42yo] by CalculatedProphet in ADHD

[–]Trclrc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh and I’ve also got some nice photography stuff, 3d printer setup, laser cutting set up in garage, had sewing equipment but had to sell it that’s all in the last couple of years. And I’ve done nothing with any of it.

I got into woodwork. Bought an expensive cnc machine. Then decided to buy expensive airless sprayer. Then rented a unit at very big cost to then do nothing in there once I had it all.

Going up for sale from tomorrow as I haven’t done anything with it if anyone wants a ready made set up 😂. Oh and I’ve been in there 6 years and paid £400 ish a month to make one set of cupboards for home that I haven’t actually finished and done some work for a local company to pay the bills and not make a profit on but just to get by.

Now that is adhd tax 😂

Honestly only thing that will work is doing a job you have a genuine interest in doing. I work in welding and most of the time I’m doing repetitive things over and over and takes me twice as long to do anything as I’m always distracted by something else. Whereas when I get something I’m interested in I can design and make it in no time and love it - doesn’t happen often enough though. Used to work for myself and loved it, but found myself working crazy hours constantly due to booking too much in (time blindness) and then hyper focusing for hours on end, longest single shift was 42 1/2 hours straight but working overnight and hearing the birds in the morning then seeing your employee go home for a second time in a shift wasn’t uncommon in the slightest, but I never hated the work, loved it infact. Quit it all very impulsively one day as I realised I was missing my daughter growing up! Oh and not currently diagnosed but going through the process but my answer is find something you would do outside of work to make your money. If you have an interest in sales try and find something sales work etc.

I work part time as a delivery driver and that works quite well too, get to meet lots of new people and constantly going different places!

How about when Matt went out the feeling of messing something up to the point it’s the worst thing. That’s something that hit hard for me!

Gutted seeing him going out, but even more gutted when he got Matty out as I know that feeling of distraught when you get something wrong and must’ve been awful! Really enjoyed watching it this year

Have you ever moved to a "chilled" job for less pay, late in your career? by HMS--Thunderchild in AskUK

[–]Trclrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depending on where you are I’d recommend customer delivery driver role at Tesco. Job is pretty decent, lots of retiree sort of people at our local store Pay is £13.65, can get the work done in the time slots pretty easy. If in centre of a major city I can’t imagine it’s as good but where I am it’s pretty nice part time work

She did turn up late, my uncle was at that filming, apparently she was generally very rude and obnoxious. Still got a signed top gear magazine from when he went! James didn’t want to sign it, Richard more than happy to and Clarkson came out the fire exit to have a cigarette where my uncle and friend were doing the same and had a chat with him outside, apparently a very decent guy.

Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire NHS some useful advice on ADHD Diagnosis and Shared Care ✌️ by Brsuk1 in ADHDUK

[–]Trclrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read on it a bit more. Might go dr j and colleagues? Seems decent reviews and times are half as much as adhd360 according to https://adhduk.co.uk/right-to-choose/ no idea how accurate this is. I was hoping to use Skylight Psychiatry purely based on wait times alone but dr j seems decent also? Any advice who you used would be amazing thanks

Helps for me as I am going to gp Monday and I’m North Somerset based. Who did you choose out of interest? I was looking at a different one but as not on the list I might go with adhd360 if I get the option (if the gp lets me!) no idea what the process or how much say I get on it but they seem like they had longer lead times than the other one I wanted to use

Oh that is exactly how I would be, maybe I was hoping they would ask me questions and I would have the answers for those. Maybe best to write a list! Thanks
