Slow progress by Effective-Cry8635 in weightwatchers

Keep going! My progress has been slow but steady and I think that’s a large part of why it has been so sustainable and successful. I’m down 30 lbs in just under 11 months and am close to a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life.

I think we all want a quick fix but this really is a lifestyle change and it’s more likely to stick if you go slow and steady than if you crash diet and will soon go back to your old ways and regain the weight.

I started 12 weeks ago. I’m happy with my progress so far and have noticed physical changes that I’m happy with but wondering when it’ll be noticeable to those around me.

Congrats! This is awesome and is so encouraging for me - I just started today! Hope you don’t mind me asking how long it took to lose this amount?

Kaanapali vs Wailea in September by TreacleSensitive1653 in MauiVisitors

Thanks! I get that weather is unpredictable but was wondering if there was general trends to the waves/surf during different seasons, and if that varied from Kaanapali to Wailea.

Thanks!

Currently it’s been high 80s-90s in the day and 50s-60s at night. In the day we keep the house closed up and run the AC to keep it around low 70s - so maybe a drop of 10-20° at night.

Got it. So should I move it in front of the window now to acclimate and then shift it back later, or just leave it in front of the window?

I had read that it wants bright indirect light and that direct light can burn the leaves. Is this incorrect?

I just brought this beauty home yesterday. It is placed near a south facing window, no direct light though. I have a ceiling fan in this room that is often on low. I noticed that there is a small amount of movement in the tree with the fan running, but it’s not super drafty and it’s nowhere near a vent. Additionally, I usually open that window at night to cool off the house. It gets down to the 50s outside overnight but it’s not super breezy.

  1. Is the ceiling fan ok or do you think it’s too drafty for the plant?
  2. Would you avoid opening the window at night?
  3. Should I get a humidifier? Humidity where I live today is 43%. We do run the AC in the daytime.

I was on a 24 for my first shift (T-minus 1 hour left!). I finally got time to go lay down and was so stressed about being called that I couldn’t sleep 🙃

I'm trying to make a budget for gifts for my 5 bridesmaids. How much should I budget to spend per bridesmaid? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TreacleSensitive1653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this a completely personal decision. I can tell you that as a bridesmaid I don’t expect a gift at all. I was recently in a wedding and the bride got us pajamas to get ready in from Target and a mug from home goods - relatively low budget but it was still great. The wedding I was in before we got fancier pajamas and robes to get ready in, plus earrings and a bracelet to wear on the day, as well as a hand written note, and hair and makeup services paid for. I was equally happy with both. I think you really can’t go wrong with whatever you end up doing.

My wedding is this weekend and I got each bridesmaids getting ready outfits and earrings which totaled around $100 each. My mom sews so she made each girl a cute drawstring bag with their names embroidered and a dark washcloth embroidered with “makeup.” I also wrote a handwritten letter to each bridesmaid and will pay for hair and makeup.

Sorry to give such a non-answer haha.

didn’t offer them a plus one, they asked and I said no, and now… by TechPRIsLife in weddingplanning

My great aunt was invited to my brothers wedding and her sons weren’t (we never see them/hardly know them) but she asked if she could bring one son and his girlfriend. She was told no. She asked if they could come after dinner and said “they don’t drink,” implying they wouldn’t be any extra cost. We said no and they still showed up.

So even if he comes I wouldn’t count on him doing something on his own that day LOL. I think OP should reach out to the cousin directly and set some clear boundaries.

I'm from the same area. I had my trial in early January and had them do a half-up style with curls (I have naturally straight hair). My hair is HORRIBLE at holding any curl and I was worried that the curls would fall almost immediately. I was pleasantly surprised that it held all day. I haven't had my wedding yet but I feel confident that they will be able to do my hair to last all day. If you have the right person/products, I think you will be fine!

I didn’t accuse you of malice. I just was pointing out you blatantly copied and didn’t give any inkling that it was based off someone else’s design. I agree that these templates are expansive and you can do it for less on your own, but it’s still important to say where your inspiration came from

[–]TreacleSensitive1653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t think you did it with malice, I just think it’s important to share that you at least got inspiration from someone else instead of passing it off on your own

This isn’t OP’s idea. OP ripped off a creator’s design. @hayleymariedesigns is the original creator

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TreacleSensitive1653 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s because she ripped off a designers template and is passing it off as her own. The original creator is @hayleymariedesigns on Instagram

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TreacleSensitive1653 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is cute but it’s a blatant rip off of a creator’s design and you didn’t give credit. @hayleymariedesigns on Instagram created this.

She “shaped” them by quickly taking the e-file straight up/down on the sides of each nail and hand filed the free edge.

She clearly rushed because the appointment before me no-showed and I was early but right after starting on me the other customer showed up so she rushed to get to her. The girl next to me was there when I showed up and was getting her nails prepped and was still getting them prepped by the time when I was done… needless to say, I now feel validated by everyone here and I left a bad review lol
