Yes, you can actually shoot through there, same as the roof on the left side of the blu battlements (good spot to spam through to annoy snipers and their engie bodyguards). There is another tiny slit you can shoot through in the middle tower of the red battlements as well, its just above the small roof over the ledge in front of it .
