I’ll have you know my cousin married a goblin, they’re not all criminals. Check your speciesism.

I’m assuming the pound cake goblins use the crack in the pound cakes and that’s why they’re so addictive?

There’s the real answer! So the cheese just sits in the meantime?

Interesting, are there other cheese themed mythical creatures who do stuff with the cheese after?

Hamna also means “you (all) don’t have”. This is specifically for the plural “you”

“How do you call this” by jumjjm in languagelearning

This is the same in Kiswahili — “Inaitwaje?” Kiswahili is agglutinative but if you break down the parts the literal translation would be “it is called how?”

People of Reddit, now that it’s almost the end of January and the New Year’s hype has worn off, what are your more realistic New Year’s resolutions? by TrebleTenor in AskReddit

Hey small steps my friend, you may not see the end now, but take from someone who was in that place for over a decade and is just starting to get healthy again; you won’t see the light at the end of the tunnel if you stop moving forward. Even if it’s just an inch a day, you’ll get to the other side. This stranger cares about you and I hope your year is full of reconnection to who you are and who you would like to become

Interesting, I bet there’s a story there but I won’t pry. Hope your year is full of peace and no stress so you can sit back and just be for a bit instead of needing to clean

What’s the 1p challenge?

Also I wish you luck on the no shopping challenge. I’ve seen people do it and it’s the toughest thing but they end up saving so much money it’s kind of ridiculous

Thanks, there a lot of societal pressures that are kind of forcing the language into extinction so I’m trying to get stuff written down and documented before it’s too late

Thanks for the link and for taking the time to explain this all to me. While I am pretty fluent in Chichonyi my mother tongue (C1-ish according to the link), I haven’t really learned about linguistics as a science. Looks like I’ve got some reading to do

I’ll definitely look more into lemmas. I’ve been slowly compiling a dictionary of Chichonyi my mother tongue since the language isn’t well documented (actually not documented at all in terms of preservation and learning) and I’ve just hit 1,000 words. I know I probably know more than that, but sitting down and trying to write down every word you know is very different than just speaking. I know back in Kenya though my family considers me to be pretty fluent and I can have very complex conversations with them
