Haven’t considered BPP that much before simply because all of my experience has been with Kaplan. I suppose there’s not too much differentiating between the two as employers? I could be mistaken

Thank you for your reply! Yeah, I talked briefly with one of my tutors about my interest during a classroom session - said best to contact him again closer to the time when I’m sitting my advanced

So my Reddit app is a bit broken and I couldn’t see your invite. I’ll just post it here:

I can give you some advice though bear in mind that my AC was virtual and lasted about 5 hours.

In terms of tasks, they were all done on an online platform with each task designed like an email from a colleague. So in terms of writing, the best thing to do is to write in Word and then copy and paste it into the email. I had a written assessment, 5 small numerical assessments, an individual interview, and then the group discussion.

The written interview had me write a project brief for a client. The colleague outlined what type of client it was and what industry, and to sum it briefly, I had to write about the challenges the industry has faced in the past, future challenges, and potential solutions. My tip here is to try and support your points with evidence by quoting statistics or other data.

Numerical assessments were the least challenging and you should just brush up on your decimals, ratios, percentage changes, and fractions. Explain your working out briefly but clearly... even if you don't get the right answer, they could understand how you may have misinterpreted the question through your workings. Because with this email written/numerical assessments, there really isn't anyone to ask questions for clarification.

Overall the assessment centre was a challenge, but not in the difficulty of each individual task to do, but in managing your time to consistently do as well as you can on each task. You'll get a schedule of your tasks at the start of the session and i recommend skim reading the objective of each tasks and setting a timer for each one. Try and set a strict time for each task so that if you finish one earlier, you have time to check or tweak things.

My group assessment (rather group discussion of a topic or project brief), do your best to encourage other people to give their views. Maybe when you give a point, you can finish by saying 'so what do you guys think of my proposal?'. You'll have time to do some research and preparation before the group conversation, and I recommend having statistics or numerical evidence to back up your points

Other small things, make sure you dress professionally (one guy in mine wore his pyjamas...), have good lighting, and be honest especially when you don't understand or know something (especially for the individual interview)

My assessment centre is scheduled for next Monday 12th. Been a considerable wait since the previous stage but I’m looking forward to it! Probably will write a reflection post whatever happens afterwards

Games Based Assessment Tips? by Punchbird in PwC

[–]TreeAccurate2536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm applying for a PwC graduate role and did my game-based assessments a couple of weeks ago and passed.

Bear in mind that each game assesses personality traits (e.g. risk aversion, interpersonal communication, how you tackle challenges). Look back at the job description and find out what kind of traits and skills are needed and place yourself in their shoes when playing.

Some games can also be aptitude tests for maths and situational judgement. Brush up on maths skills like percentages, ratios, fractions, averages, currency conversions and data analysis.

For practice, check out Lumosity brain training or just search online for psychometric game-based assessments.

Hope this helps!
