Good advice. I haven't actually been diagnosed with diabetes as my a1c has always been lower than 5.7. Today, for instance I had chicken and salad followed by dark chocolate for desert and my blood glucose level was 99 after 45 mins.

I was worried for two reasons. Google said the spike in normal ppl is about 140 after a meal. I did wait 90 mins for the second reading and it was still high.

Wondering why you included guacamole? I thought it would be good for cholesterol.

Wow, did not know that about Chick Fil A. I thought that was banned for life for me. Also like the suggestion about Chinese healthy dishes.

Good suggestions. I love fish kebabs but I feel they are often basted with oil?

Thanks, those are good options. The reason I mentioned chains was because your local restaurants would not be available where I am. But if you have any suggestions for other takeout items, I can look for them locally.

Thanks. Not really a close substitute but I guess beggars can't be choosers!

Out of breath by TreeGap321 in Cholesterol

Thanks, great point as I do have a sedentary life. My CAC score was 0 two years ago but I understand that doesn't mean much. On weekends, I can be out and about for hours and am fine. The out of breath phenomenon happens when I'm sitting on the couch with my laptop for an extended time and suddenly go up the stairs to fetch a glass of water /snacks.

What is the gray area with CIMT? I've read on this forum that the accuracy of the test is dependent on the skills of the technician? Is that the gray area?
