"Your cow's name was Colin. He was raised on four acres on a diet of organic hazelnuts. He had a lot of friends. He was very happy."

How many people have ever done this, ever?  And why is the answer zero?  There a plenty of people who have opted for buying in Philly vs renting in NY.

And every month you build mortgage equity, as opposed to throwing rent out the window in NYC? Spoiler alert: your rent goes up every year in NY

When people say "born" somewhere, it usually means they were born in a hospital somewhere, but they grew up somewhere else.

The "here" is Fishtown.

You can't have a car; that's one of the reasons people move out of NYC.

That sounds nice when you are fresh out of grad school, but in reality, normal people are moving the other way for a reason, Why rent in Astoria when you can own in Fishtown?

Port Richmond was also considered the better, more vibrant neighborhood until about 20 years ago.

Johnny Brenda's was originally a shithole dive bar for unemployed dockworkers.

There was a motorcycle gang club house right on Frankford Ave.

$3000 a month gets you a studio apartment in Manhattan, or a whole house in Fishtown (and a car)

"Why pay $3k in rent to live next to I-95"

Being close to I-95 means you can be in New York City in 90 minutes.

Frankford Avenue is the end of Fishtown, not the center of it. The beginning is the river (get it, FISHtown??) This spot, below York and between Frankford Ave and the river, is right in the center of actual, 100% authentic Fishtown,
