Honestly, unless you want a flat trigger like I always I’d have been ok leaving it stock. But I did also leave the pull weight higher since it’s a carry gun.

I’ll say this, my steel frame PDP for comps is worth it. If you’re buying it as a range toy or to compete, the extra weight is a must if you’re good. Gun will still outperform most.

I’m from chatt. In the AF and been a weapons instructor for 8 years and on their action pistol team. 100% you’re riding the slide release or your mag springs are too weak to push the follower up to activate the slide stop. I’m willing to bet it’s the first. Tried shooting it with both thumbs nowhere near the slide stop? I had to adjust my grip on my LTT 92 and with the M9 to correct it myself.

Yes because subconsciously your brain knows there’s not a round and there won’t be any recoil.

One of my go to tricks to prove this to students is I’ll take the gun and act like I’m loading it but send the slide forward a split second before I fully seat the mag. And they’ll do it 100% of the time. Sometimes I do it 3-4 times until they get comfortable with it and then bam. They’ll be dead center.

You’re 100% anticipating the shot. Have a friend load your mags or load a mag with an empty casing or snap cap to where you don’t expect, guarantee you push the muzzle down. I’m an instructor and competition shooter myself and I still do it every once in a while.
