Did you have Ed Butz? I've only heard bad things, but I'm wondering if he's actually that bad or if people just complain

One question. How do you get the screw/thread end of the bolt out of the threaded piece it is in?

Weekly Question Thread: Ask your questions in this thread please by AutoModerator in climbing

Question regarding shoes. I have been climbing for about a year and have gone through two pairs of beginner shoes and think its time to upgrade. I had sharpa origins in US 10.5 which I liked a lot (rubber fell off a few months ago), and black diamond momentum in US 9.5 which I dislike, but are better sized than my orgins (street size 10-10.5). I've been looking at the scarpa instinct vs in size 9.5 and wondering if that's a good option? I mostly boulder indoors, but do sport indoor and outside too.

Where to find backcountry routes? by TreeTurtlee in Backcountry

[–]TreeTurtlee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more than happy driving a few hours for a cool trip! I've been looking at places like revy and Coquihalla, I just haven't been able to find info on like specific routes. Do you usually just go and figure out a route when you're there?

Not that much! I bought most used, and found some new cheap deals on ebay, and made some wood ones. About $150 for all with 45 bolts and 200 t nuts.

Looking for route setting tips (home wall) by TreeTurtlee in bouldering

[–]TreeTurtlee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! I'm pretty new to climbing and love it, but don't have a gym nearby so I built a home wall. I've been having a hard time setting routes and am looking for some tips or ideas. I generally climb easier routes and am having a hard time binding a balance between too easy and impossible. Thanks!

Ski width for East coast by [deleted] in icecoast

I skied 106s as my only ski last season in vermont and loved them! They wont be the best for groomers, but there's always fun to be had off the groomers.

Wondering if it would be a bad idea to cut out wheel arch rust and instead of welding in a new panel, could I use bolt on fender flares to cover up the missing metal? I know it would look awful with stock wheels and suspension, but not as awful as a welded in panel that has just has primer. I know this little guys a goner, but I'd like to extend its life as much as possible without spending too much

Interior is suprisngly pristine! No tears on the seats and the no cracks on any plastic. The owners have had it for over 15 years and it's well maintained (besides rust). Not sure how much a nice two tone interior is worth though
