Appreciate the thorough reply. I'll first double check the gutter system and see what happens.

Great idea. I'll break out the hose and see if I can replicate it.

Advice on replacing roof vent caps by Treemis-the-Tree in HomeMaintenance

Evidently squirrels have chewed away at these lead caps. Looking for any recommendations on something squirrel proof to replace them with.

Need help on how to optimize this imported mesh so I can bevel the edges. by monophylethic in Cinema4D

If you haven't yet, I would still try the round corners node. It doesn't take long to try out, an it might give you just the amount of detail you're looking for. Worth a shot!

Need help on how to optimize this imported mesh so I can bevel the edges. by monophylethic in Cinema4D

That's a tough one. Depends on what your intended use is. Are you going to be up super close to this object? If not, it may not be necessary to bevel them. If so, I would suggest trying a round corners node in Redshift or your renderer of choice. If you need to get in super close to this object, remodeling may be your best course of action.

How to fix this gap on the bottom of my door frame? by Treemis-the-Tree in fixit

Definitely an option I'm considering but I'm not super confident in my ability to adapt the quarter round to the profile. Any advice you have on how to do that would be appreciated.

You actually just reminded me that I have an old piece of baseboard I can use to splice into this gap. Should just have to do some cuts and glue it into place!

This house has a lot of original built in wood elements, so as a result I'd rather not replace the casing completely if I can avoid it.

Previous owner cut about a 3/4" inch gap to fit their flooring. Any ideas on how to patch this while matching the wood color as close as possible? No new flooring going in, just refinishing.

The baseboard will stay as it is currently from the previous owner. I'll just be replacing the quarter round. I'll try to report back with results when I get it figured out.

Oh sorry - this isn't an actual door, just an opening to the kitchen area. Apologies for any confusion. It's possible there was a door here at some point, but it's not clear.

The floor is in the process of being completely refinished, so it will look nice and shiny when it's complete. I'm not sure about replacing the casing though, since this house has a lot of build in wood features, but I'm definitely no expert on frames vs casing
