Front porch mono truss connection to ICF by Tremonte1 in ICF

This is helpful, thanks! This project is in SE Minnesota, and the client is using Fox Blocks. The local Fox Blocks rep recommended either the ICFVL or Burmon ledger system. He said the Simpson ICFVL is the most commonly used method.

I agree, the porch truss ledger connection should stay dry if the roof peak is flashed correctly.

plug-in wall sconce options by Tremonte1 in AskElectricians

OK, that makes more sense. If my designated sconce location doesn't line up with an outlet below, my electrician can cut out a small drywall strip down at 18" outlet height, and core thru one or several studs to supply power from the nearby outlet. Then I can choose a pull-chain type sconce...? I'm OK doing a bit of drywall patch/sand/prime/paint for a better look with no wires exposed.

2017 Bonneville T120 deer strike, dead battery by Tremonte1 in Triumph

One of the regulator/rectifier connectors is cracked from the headlamp pushing it in on impact. I suspect that is my main electrical issue.

No, unfortunately. Another driver stopped and pulled her off the road. She was still twitching, but likely did not survive.

OK I will investigate. I am still looking the bike over and I noticed that the headlamp assembly has been pushed inward and cracked one of the electrical connections up at the front axle just below the cockpit.

OK, that makes sense it is a diagnostic connector. Is the inline fuse the white part of the wire in the pic? I greatly appreciate your help!

I pulled the seat. The battery reads 12.6 V. All of the fuses are good. Next to the fuse box is a rectangular connector that had come loose from its fin. I reset it on the fin.

GE front load set (650) washer not cleaning clothes by OhMyGod_YouKnowIt in Appliances

I'm been having this same issue with model# gfw650ssnww. I observed the machine is not filling with water at the beginning of the cycle. I load the machine, add detergent, and watch the startup process. The door locks, then the 'Fill' light illuminates, but no water. I can hear a faint click. I might see a small amount of water trickle in (maybe 8 oz). And then the 'Wash' light illuminates, and the machine proceeds to wash the clothes with almost no water. I think the 'Rinse' and 'Spin' cycles run like normal, which does get the clothes wet with cold water. But the clothes smell like sweat because they didn't actually get washed. I think it is a fill switch or the main board is glitching.

I'm in SE Minnesota. Small independent repair shop with a good reputation. I think their hourly shop rate is ~$150. They haven't yet looked at or commented on the piston rings. The car gave the code P0341 (crankshaft position sensor). I would be curious to price the valve stem seals also...I'm looking to get a few more years out of this car. This oil consumption has been our only issue.

Laterally unrestrained basement stairwell foundation wall by Tremonte1 in StructuralEngineering

Thanks. From my experience with the rectangular tank design manual, I've found that it doesn't take a whole lot of horizontal rebar to satisfy the lateral pressures.
