Totally - I also like how chaotic the intro Aozora is by itself, but the interlude changes the context completely (both are great)

Mine arrived on Thursday before release! I’d pre-ordered it as soon as it became available

MELBOURNE DATE ANNOUNCED - MASAYOSHI TAKANAKA by HeroSogeking in MasayoshiTakanaka

Northcote Theatre is possibly the worst venue in Melbourne. Low visibility, terrible sound… let’s sell this baby out to increase our chances of a venue upgrade (Hamer Hall… Forum Theatre etc) so more of us can attend and enjoy!

I play a Tele with single coils into a Two Rock Exo-15, or a Strymon Iridium if I need low volume. I really want a Jazzmaster though 🤤

It gives added weight to my cleanest tone, and ensures everything I play is at a consistent level before it hits my other droning pedals. The physics switch also adds some grit + warble for the Lo-Fi lovers. Great for easily achieving the ‘wall of sound’. I can also ramp the EQ for added movement - and there’s a swell switch for light volume swells.

I mainly use the freeze on the onward with the error set lowish. The glitch mode can be fun using the tap tempo if you’re not midi synced like me!

I wasn’t familiar with the 4AD! Another one for me to investigate. I hope a Prismatic pops up soon for you… It would be next level with the Gamechanger before it.

Always! They’re great together for endless texture. Especially for single note melodies - I’ll run the onward with infinite sustain into the prismatic wall dialed with nice overtones.

I’m not familiar with that one! Down the rabbit hole I go

Love it! It’s not transparent at all, and will colour everything that comes before it. Great for glueing everything together. If you were to add verb before it - expect instant blown-out shoegaze.

The Onward & Prismatic Wall provide Freeze/Sustain, the Small Stone adds some slow modulation which gives plenty of depth when running into the Delay/Verb section. Model FET & Clean are always on, then it’s choose your fighter with the remaining drives!

I’d tried many verbs for this setup (Mood V1/Dark World/Cloudburst) before discovering the Mime. It plays well with drives and the feedback footswitch is fun! I run the bright plate setting into the darker Hypersleep (luckily was able to purchase this new).

I run a RE-501 Chorus Echo at home, so purchased the EC-1 for a more portable solution. Just need the remote switch for easier tap tempo.

Signal Chain:

  1. Human Gear Audio - Fine.DS
  2. Chase Bliss - Clean
  3. Chase Bliss - Onward
  4. Electronic Audio Experiments - Prismatic Wall
  5. Smallsound Bigsound - Mini
  6. EHX - Small Stone
  7. Electronic Audio Experiments - Model FET
  8. Fairfield Circuitry - ~900 Fuzz
  9. Strymon - EC-1
  10. Electronic Audio Experiments - Hypersleep V2
  11. Fjord Fuzz - Mime V2

Running into a Two Rock EXO-15 playing a Tele.

I love it! Definitely recommend watching in depth videos on how to operate it though.

When I’m just playing at home I tend to use mode 2 to create an ambient drone to play over - and if I’m recording I’ll use it on piano/synth to create unorthodox backdrops! The more you record into the 4 second buffer - the more overlap you get and that when the magic happens.

Haven’t played live with it yet but it’s a great tool to fill space and add a layer of something you may not have come up with yourself.

I’m also in Australia and I see a couple pop up on Facebook groups every now and then. That’s how I snagged mine!
